This pub is a great place to eat. It has a great atmosphere and you can always be assured of a friendly face and a warm welcome.
Don't expect Cordon Bleu cookery here, the food is just great British food and excellent value for money. On weekdays they do a great pensioners lunch with a choice of 5 or 6 mains and desserts for only £7.95 for two courses, which is even better value for money.
The pub is a bit hidden away in the countryside but it is well worth the effort to find it.
The ambience and setting of this pub is excellent, but I am afraid the lunch menu is very limited and pricey....£12.95 for burger and chips!!!!!! which might be alright for the London set but not for local visitors.
I also note that one of the other reviews stated that there was an O.A.P menu, but when asked if there were any other options to the menu we were given, we were told ...No. So where this £ 7.95 menu was I have no idea...
Sadly we declined to eat here and found ourselves a lovely pub within 5 mins drive with excellent menu and at a fraction of the price.
Our advice would be to increase the menu, reduce the price and you would have the perfect pub.......
Great food and friendly staff.
