Traditional country pub set in the heart of Wentworth village. Serves food and has special curry nights once a week. Food well-presented and cooked but waiting time can be a problem at busy times. Large outdoor area to the rear with plenty of room for youngsters to let off steam.
Plenty of ales on tap.
This pub is in the lovely pretty village of Wentworth. It is a gorgeous old building and inside it's a great place to go on a cold day, with fires, and little nooks and crannies where you can sit tucked away from others. They also have a large restaurant room, which they open at Xmas, mothers day, etc.
The food is standard pub grub but it's fine and it's a lovely cosy place to go.
The Rockingham Arms, Public House, Hotel and Restaurant is situated in the historic village of Wentworth near Barnsley. The impressive, stone, Ivy clad establishment sports a delightful beer garden surrounded by trees and a unique bowling green, an ideal place to pass a summers afternoon watching the gentle sport whilst enjoying a pint or two. The pub is home to an eleven roomed hotel, situated across the road from the pub. In addition a large barn at the rear of the pub plays host to weddings and other functions and is home to the Folk Club and an ideal venue for live music.
Nice food, pretty beer garden next to the bowling green. The pub is next to the free village car park too. Picturesque inside with a real fireplace in one of the rooms. Very pleasant to sit outside with a beer & enjoy the peace. The entire village is very peaceful & a lovely place to spend the day. A long wait at busy times, but it doesn't matter if you're sat outside in the sunshine :)
