A veritable sanctuary for rock 'n' roll lovers in the wasteland that is north london music scene. It gets smaller everytime I go there (sign of the times) but it's a great little shop, really friendly staff, and they always have what I'm looking for, and usually something I didn't know I was looking for!
Rock Around The Clock is aimed towards beginner musicians as most brands are entry level such as Squier or Westfield as opposed to only one Martin and two Gibsons, the guitars are set up a bit randomly, an acoustic guitar in the middle of electrics. It is not very visually pleasing, there is too much going on in the shop, you can't walk around very easily and there were only three customers in the shop. The sheet music isn't very up to date and the choice isn't massive. This is not the kind of shop that inspired Hendrix. It is just kind of generic and doesn't make me want to pull the guitar out and rock out with my **** out.
I stumbled into this sweet little music shop in a sudden downpour and whiled away the storm perusing old classics, flicking through records and CDs while drumming and humming away to the catchy tracks playing away. Cosy, warm and friendly. Only one room, but a good selection in a small space, with little gems of rarity dotted here and there amongst the usual classic rock and reggae.
