When you see beyond the fact that this is a hotel and leisure centre, you realise that it's not at all a bad place to come for a spot of lunch. Word of mouth brought me here, a friend said the food was tasty, reasonably priced and in a lovely location overlooking the Mersey (it's a little confusing, because this used to be called The Galleon, but now I think the management realised that this name was a little stuffy and old fashioned. I much prefer the new names).
There's burgers, fish and chips, wild mushroom and leek fusilli, and a great 2 course Sunday carvery for £8.95. Definitely a great spot for family get-togethers when the house is too small!
