I went to this shop back in November for an LCD for my partner. After having been insulted in Curry's by an arrogant salesman, I vowed not to spend my money there, and i'm glad I didn't.
The salesman in Richer Sounds was helpful, knowledgeable and not at all condescending, as I don't know anything about TV's. I was also able to get a TV that my partner loves for £100 LESS than in Curry's.
Many thanks, Richer sounds. A++ service.
Yes, I like Richer Sounds too - no fancy decor, just stacked high with electrical goodies at great prices. Only downside is they try and get your name and address whenever you buy anything (yes I know they have to by law if you buy a tv but not for anything else). I just refuse to give itor, if I'm feeling mischievious, I make up a fake Polish name and watch them try to write it down. Great fun!
I'd come to this shop first for my tv and hi-fi needs, you can save a lot of money.
Oh, jusr remembered another small downsidethey never have any carrier bags!!!!
I recently bought a TV too big for me to carry alone from Richer Sounds. I'd already done all my research on the internet and found a great one I liked on the website for a fantastic price. I actually found it cheaper somewhere else and they had a price match offer and said they'd match it. However, although the staff are very friendly, I felt they were quite pushy, and they were trying to sell me a TV for the same price that I really didn't want. Since I already knew what I was coming to buy, it didn't fool me, but I have to admit, had I come in just knowing I wanted an HDTV I would have probably walked out having made a bad choice. After a while he accepted I wasn't budging and sold me the one I wanted for the price matched price, so in the end, it all worked out. Its a good shop with good prices, but I just feel that the staff are a bit pushy at it made me feel uneasy. Do a bit of research though, and you'll have nothing to worry about!
