this a good value day out if the weather is bad and you plan on staying all day from opening time. plenty to do for all ages, lots of slides from toddler size to adults buzz or black thunder slides. it has a monorail that runs around the whole of the complex, a surf pool a nursery pool a toddler and non swimmers pool with activities in it and a waterfall to hide under. it even has an octopus slide in the main pool but this is put out of action when the tannoy anounces waves in the lagoon pool, a clap of thunder sounds and then the rain starts falling from the roof cos this is when the waves start to roll in and the fun begins.
if you do plan to go for a long swimming session then its wise to take in plastic bottles filled with juice cos it works out quite expensive if you drink a lot, also the food is expensive too. not bad for a treat but to feed a large family or group of friends all day, it works out dear.
lockers are available (refundable deposit). changing rooms are checked on a regular basis and so are the toilets, don't wear your best clothes as the toilets and changing room floors are very often wet after all there is a lot of water about.
this place is wheel chair friendly and o are the staff, the gift shop inside is also accessable and the prices are not too badin the gift shop either. staff are nice and are pleased to help you. the gift shop sells trinkets, blow up rings ( they will blow them up free for you) swimming trunks and costumes and even baby stuff like dummies and nappies.
if you need medical attention whilst you are at the sun centre then once a member of staff has been told, its only a few minutes till a first aider is on the scene. a small child with me had a bang, as they do, the responce was on the scene quicker than i could get back to the table where we had been sat. well done first aider!
ive been coming to the sun centre for some time now as we used to have a caravan in rhyl.
It was always a fun day out with real waves in the pool, slides and surfing!!!
great day out for families and kids love it.
they also have eating facilities which is good and easy if there are a few of you.
Recent press states that it needs a massive cash injection to stay alive. Has still enough facilities to keep the kids entertained for the day. I think once a year would be adequate enough. Easy enough parking facilities and in close proximity to the town centre.
Ive been coming here everyyear since I was a kid,it was one of the first of its kind when it first opened, and its still an excellent place to come ,no matter what the weather is like, its always as hot as a summers day here, the wave machines are realistic, and there are plenty of activities to do,you can also go in a cable car which takes you around he top of the center.there is so much to do hear, and such a nice enviroment,we usually spend a full day here, the prices arnt bad,and the place is clean and the staff friendly, the also have a good gift shop
