typical German regional cuisine in a typical town hall cellar atmosphere
After an exhaustingly long walking tour of Augsburg ending up in the Golden Saal at the top of the Town Hall, we were very happy to be able to just take the elevator all the way down directly into the cellar for a restaurant with arches and high ceilings and an attractive huge screen with projections of winter landscapes.
Our food and drink were as expected in a traditional German restaurant: dark beer, a special regional soup with pieces of pancakes instead of noodles (Flädlesuppe), a sort of regional ravioli served in a broth (Maultaschen).
We weren't expecting a gourmet experience and didn't pay for one either. Friendly servers in a historic environment and reasonable prices fit the bill.
Impressive ambiance, professional staff and good quality in everything. Would recommend to anyone except vegetarians.
