A really cosy, welcoming pub with great friendly staff. The food menu is traditional but just right for Sundays - the steak pudding is highly recommended. The owners are relatively new and they really deserve to be supported.
This is a good place for ale and food. Marstons Old Empire is served on draught - not seen too often. Food is served all day and through the evening - its a varied menu at reasonable prices. It does get busy at times. I like the place and aleays pay it a visit if in town.
The Queen Victoria situated in Church Walks just a short walk from the Pier or the other way a short walk from the top end of Mostyn Street. It is a lovely Pub very clean and well cared for with an extensive menu. You can also eat upstairs in Albert's restaurant if you don;t want to eat in the pub atmosphere. But since the smoking ban has been implemented I find it a nice atmosphere in the bar. One of the things I do like is they serve light bites, smaller portions of the main meals and I find these portions adequate. The main meals really are a large quantity.
We went into this pub for a drink and ended up staying for a meal because it had such a lovely atmosphere and discovered that they have great food too. Would recommend the sausage and mash and the chicken tikka masala. They play great music too!
