I used to actually cook in this pub when I was a student in 94-97
anyone out there who was there at this time with any good memories ?
the food was fantastic (the menu I mean not my cooking lol)!
the landlady and landlord ray and jean were fantastic and us students mixed in well with the locals
WOULD DEFINATELY RECOMMEND THIS PUBLIC HOUSE TO ANYONE !!
This pub is set on two floors the street level floor has great views overlooking the Harbour, downstairs leads to a bar and the outside seating area this is great in warm weather, they have a good selection of beers and the two for £10.00 on a selection of the food is great value for money, it tasted great too, so much so we had a meal and drinks a couple of times that week great place to people watch.
The Quayside was our regular pub when we were students down in Flamouth and whether or not it is still as popular with students now, I would definitely recommend paying it a visit for the warm atmosphere. It is a decent size inside but definitely the Beer garden on a summer's evening is the place to be. The food is also not bad for the price here and it became quite a regular Sunday lunch spot for quite a few of us. they serve a good selection of drinks with some especially good Ales on offer. My particular favourite was Cornish Knocker which was always very welcome and I miss now not living in the South West. Overall I would highly recommend trying out the Quayside as it is a fine public house.
good value food
