Lovely hospital I visit about once every 3 months so I can see changes as I go in for check ups, this hospital is wonderful because it has what it needs to be one; friendly staff, clean and a relaxed atmosphere (maybe not in A+E on Friday nights). Waiting times aren't a real problem not too long! The coffee shop is reasonably priced and run by polite+considerate volunteers, which you don't see everyday!
Practically a village hospital compared to the monoliths at New Cross and Russells Hall.
If you've ever had the misfortune of being treated at New Cross (and if you have and are still reading this, I salute you for still being alive and not dying from some dreadful infection you almost certainly came out with), or drawn the short straw and had to visit Russells Hall, you'll understand what a blessing it is to be able to visit a hospital where there is plenty of parking, friendly staff, reasonable waiting times (in comparison to everywhere else) and a relatively clean feel to the place. This is how I'd describe Telford's Princess Royal.
Yes, I'm sure there are lots of you reading this that disagree with me totally, but I want to make just one comment - well done to Princess Royal for at least making an effort and pleasing one of your customers.
There's a Main Reception manned by plenty of staff to direct you to where you need to be. Then when you get to the Department there'll be another Reception to check you in. Very friendly place and not easily lost.
Plenty of parking for about £2 a day (no hourly rates) or you can get a weekly pass for about £5.
All the Departments you could need are here and it's great.
i recently had to stay with my son in the childrens ward most of the nurses were great but a few were ignorant and rude. we were not told about the ward or where things were. my son had an operation and all the staff involved were brilliant though and made him feel at ease
