Whenever I'm home visiting my family in Colchester, we almost always walk up to this pub in the evening to have some drinks and catch up.

My grandparents live about 10 minutes away (walking distance), so this is the most convenient pub to go to.  

It's not the best pub in the UK, but it's good for just dropping in and having a chat with some friends while sipping a drink.  It's close for some of my other friends to drive/walk to, so we always arrange to meet here.

Of course you can expect to find all of the typical pub grub here as well.  I've never eaten here so I can't tell you how the food is.  But this is a cozy little pub to visit if you happen to be passing by.
