As you walk into West One, a small shopping centre on Oxford Street, London, one of the first things you see is this fairly modern branch of PRET. It is a decent branch of the chain.
They had a decent selection of hot food, probably amongst the largest range, I've seen other than in the early morning in London, which proves this store is doing something right, regarding monitoring the number of soups etc they have on sale. The range of other pre-made products was satisfactory.
There was only a small amount of seating which is the shame, however around the seating area which was quite spacious there were multiple stands where you could pick up cutterly and napkins, some of which were just left out in the plastic and not placed into the selected containers where they should be, which seemed a little lazy to me.
A decent place to grab a drink while in the area, with much more seating than the Starbucks store nearby.
Not bad but not overly impressive again as the lack of seating, selection of cold items including the gluten-free sandwiches, and laziness in certain areas do let the store down.

Every time I go to U.K., this is my go-to place for breakfast.
I find their food very fresh and staff quite welcoming !Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 1552746317512 Sept 2009
I have three words for you....
Cheese And Pickle
This is BY FAR the best sandwich on the planet & Pret A Manger serves it up right
For those not in the know (USA), Pret offers shelves & shelves of packed sandwiches......but they are FRESHLY made & ready to go. Get your regular fav lunch sandwich & get out the door that much quicker b/c your delish sandwich is already made
Americans tend to have this preconceived notion that anything already in the triangle packaging must be old, moldy & terrible......hear me now! This is not the case w/ Pret
Whether on sliced bread or a baguette, you will find the below yummiliscious fillings:
Mature Cheddar Cheese
Branston Pickle
Watercress
If you're lucky, you'll also get sun-dried tomatoes like I had on my baguette today & that just kicks it up a notch
Pret also makes their own Crisps & I can highly recommend the Cheddar & Onion
Super-crispy & tons of cheesy flavor w/ none of that MSG we Americans tend to put in all our bags of chips
Three cheers for Pret A Manger & it's best three-ingredient sandwich!!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - 16 Apr 2014
I've been coming to this location daily for the past three days, since it's just a couple minutes walk from my hotel. It's a chain restaurant here in London, offering baked goods, coffee, and of course sandwiches in a crinkly, biodegradable plastic bag!
My favorite breakfast item is the smoked salmon and egg salad sandwich. It has a few sprouts to add some balance. For some reason, the salty smoked salmon and creamy egg salad goes very well together. Like my other favorite lunch sandwich place, Paul, they use long, crunchy baguette breads which makes it easy to eat.
Both the chocolate and almond croissants are also excellent - very flakey and crispy if you like that. It's not very dense but very tasty - a perfect way to end the meal without being overly full.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 21670055828 Sept 2010
Being in London for the first time, I saw this EVERYWHERE! It is like the equivalent of Starbucks in the states.
They have a wonderful variety of foods to choose from.
If you're in a rush to catch all the attractions and want a quick but pretty good bite I suggest stopping by Pret a Manger.
I had the chicken avocado and a squash soup which were both delicious! Everything seemed pretty fresh. The best part like I said was it was quick!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Connie C.San Diego, United States138437318 Aug 2012
Busy street and busy cafe but speedy service.
I came in during the lunch rush and I had just missed a large group of tourists which probably explains the rushed customer service but it was understandable and not a total mood-killer.
I've had the smoked salmon and butter sandwich (£2.5) and the ham cheese and tomato croissant (£1.8).
The sandwich was simple and light, just the way I like my sandwiches.
But, I can say that the croissant was definitely my favorite!
Melted cheese harmonizing with the ham and tomato in a perfectly seasoned croissant- I felt like I was eating a mini-pizza.
So addictive that I crave this croissant- totally worth the 450 calories!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Hiroshi T.Toyokawa, Japan2412 Jun 2016
When I travelled in London, I went to Pret A Manger.
There are a lot of Prets in London conveniently located near stations and on high streets.
They sell not only just coffee, most importantly, healthy lunch at reasonable prices, too!
I am from Japan and In London, everything is really expensive but I loved the large cup of healthy hot soup with a lot of vegetables and chicken with a bread.
Other cafes like Starbucks only sell snack and sandwiches which are far too sweet or too much strong tasted sauces, which kills delicate flavour of the ingredients and it seems this kind of too much tasting paralyse our sense of taste with full of delicately cooked food sold in Japan and other Asian countries.
When I comes back to London, I will definitely use Pret A Manger again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Julia W.Seattle, United States8965333627 Aug 2011
These were located everywhere all over London and similar to a over-priced Starbucks.
They boast that they have very 'healthy' and organic types of food but when we arrived, all we saw that we'd like was from the bakery.
Two croissants, some small (very small) fruit cups & a bottle of water ran us about $20. It was definitely over-priced.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aleksandra B.London420220010 Nov 2008
I wouldn't normally review a chain like this, BUT if you want to do some people watching and eat an admittedly nice sandwich then this is your place. Pret do all sorts of yummy varieties and takes on classic favourites. I do like the generous salads if I am being healthy, although they seem to have stopped the tuna nicose they have a new morrocan one out with houmous and falafel and other soul bettering foods. The Soups are a cheaper and filling option. OR the miso soup really does heal any illness and give you a bit of a boost.
Pret is nice to just sit in and watch people pass by the window. And you can always pick up a pudding when you finish your sandwich, as I end up doing- the love bars or pecan pie is AMAZING. The prices are not so low, BUT what would you rather have- a hoisin duck wrap, a tea and a cheesecake or a triple whooper bacon extra cheese road to heart attack?Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Z E.London7619 May 2009
Pret... ah Pret.
The brainchild of a sandwich genuis, Pret offers a delicious alternative to a Subway, Starbucks or *shudder* a Greggs pastie.
The most awesomest lunchtime meal combos are:
* For the usual, everyday lunch
Lemonade in a tin
Avocado Chicken sandwich (put the pine nuts back in!)
Sea Salt and Cider Vinegar crisples
Lemon Cheesecake
* For a healthy, detox lunch
Vitamin Volcano
Miso soup
Mango and lime chunks
* For a cold, winters' day
Hot Chocolate!
Mozzarella and Tomato pastry
Leek and Potato Soup
Chocolate Brownie
* By request... here's my combo for a hot, summer's day:
Elderflower in a Tin
Feta and Olive No Bread Salad
Some kind of Chili crisps
Lemon Cheesecake
I do love their coffee too, and the fact you can order the chef to make you a fresh sandwich with anything added or minused.
"Chef, make me a chicken avocado sandwich with lettuce leaves, none of that hard, crispy lettuce neither. Also, add some of that ceasar dressing and pine leaves while you're at it. Go go! And hurry!"
It's no-nonsese, honest food, at good prices and their menu just gets better and better.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0
