I have stayed here 3 times in the last year!
Its a nice Premier Inn. Comfy beds, clean, friendly staff and the location is good for shopping and getting the train at New Street.
Check the website well in advance for room deals.
So...we weren't supposed to be staying here ~ it was supposed to be a Travelodge in Birmingham but it turned out there was a mix-up with the dates we booked (oops) so thankfully after trying to find somewhere to stay at short notice PI had a couple of rooms vacant. Phew. Okay we ended up paying more than we would've liked (eek) BUT still it was short notice & we were pretty desperate, so for that we were grateful.
My last PI stay wasn't that brilliant ~ I remember the bed we had being really quite uncomfortable & I woke up really sore/stiff the next morning. Not fun. But the bed in this particular PI was fab ~ really comfortable & nice choice of a soft or hard pillow too.
The room we had was really nice too although our friends had a much better view (their view looked out towards Birmingham cathedral, very nice). We had a big chaise longue which doubled as another (single) bed. Okay bathroom, nice flat-screen tv and good tea/coffee making facilities.
I have to say I had a really good nights sleep & I was not disturbed once ~ always a worry for me when staying in a budget hotel in a city centre. Some are just stag/hen-party filled. Urgh.
Lovely reception & attached a very swanky looking restaurant which we never ventured into as I'm sure it would've been rather pricey for us.
Nice, helpful staff & all in all a great stay. Very handy for the town centre & nearby coffee shops/cafes. Would deffo come back to stay again.
Premier Inn is considered to be a budget chain hotel. However, having stayed at several of their hotels in the last year, I have to say that I'm most impressed.
The website is clear, comprehensive and it's easy to compare several nearby hotels to choose the most suitable one.
My family and I stayed at this Premier Inn in Birmingham city centre earlier this year to attend the All England Badminton finals at the National Indoor Arena. The hotel is perfectly located in the city centre, close to all the shops and restaurants but only 20 minute walk along a pedestrianised route from the NIA.
There is some metered parking outside the hotel but for longer term parking, it's best to use one of the many public car parks nearby. We used the Brunel Street car park which is a 5 minute walk away and cost around £8 for 24 hours on a Sunday.
Check in is a funny affair with self service machines to enter your details but with very eager staff hovering to help. This hotel is very well staffed with helpful people and I'm not really sure why they don't just use a traditional check in system.
The rooms were big and like other Premier Inns I've stayed at, quite modern and updated. There was a problem with the shower door in one of the rooms but we were given a new room immediately. The beds were comfortable.
There was a nice looking on-site restaurant but we chose to eat out.
This hotel satisfied both the CTG (Chinese Thrift Gene) and the CQG (Chinese Quality Gene)!
I have to say when my work booked me into a premier inn I wasn't too happy and checked straight away that it was new so hence would be clean atleast. I was on arrival pleasantly surprised. There was a bar and grill and it was nicely decorated and busy with atmosphere. The check was self service which was quick and easy. The rooms clean and mine was spacious with a good view of the church. It's in a central location so all in all great value for money. And clean and peaceful. If only all premier inn hotels were like this.
you have to love a premier weekend. and love the decorations and as purple is my favourite colour. premier inn will always be seeing on many occasions, good price for your stay and very friendly staff even though its a three star rated hotel for me it will always be a five start rated
service is ok,staff friendly and rooms are comfie although do require so attention to cosmeticly. ideal location and is to locate.
