Returned here for a third time - just as superb. 3 dined. I had a pork starter called Moo Ping. fantastic balanced punchy flavours that complemented the tender meat. the other two had a mixed starter of chicken satay, spring rolls, winter prawns (warm water) prawn toasts and golden bags - a wanton of sorts. once again I went for the hard fried whole sea bass Pia Lard Prig with chilli and tamarind dense complex satisfying deep taste. The others Gang Pa a chicken jungle curry and Pad Gratiem Prig Thai chicken in garlic, spring onion, mange tout and every dish in very well flavoured sauces generous servings and rice and Pad Thai noodles on the side. irish coffees to finish - what else! Said this before - this is a superb fish/tamarind/lemon grass/chilli/coriander/garlic/basil paradise dining experience - if you are anywhere near don't pass up the chance.
Tried out Preedee with the hyper-Qyper thesussexidler and myspace "chroniclesofthebizarre" musical eminence grise DJ Lusher. Slightly out of the town centre, a few minutes down Camden Road, but anyone with limbs can get there in a few minutes. I'd recommend it. Really nice staff and food just as good as, say, Suchitra's in Calverley Road, but better value for money. Thoroughly decent place and worth a couple of hours of your time. Go try if you like Thai.
Great Food, can only speak from a takeaway perspective , they dont deliver on the weekends which is a drag so you have to collect but saying that you do get 10% off. Got it delivered for a special meal the other night and as always it was awesome. A little on the over priced side , nearly £5 for 4 tiny spring rolls, i'm sure Preedee you could do better than that, and as a takeaway price i do only use it on special occasions. I'lll take a star away for price otherwise it would be 5.
Popped in last night with useless TW Qyper 'legrandflaneur' and one half of the weirdo MySpace combo 'Chronicles of the Bizarre' (myspace.com/chroniclesof… ) to have a simple bite to eat. This place is on a quiet stretch of Camden Road & I could even dump the motor outside on a single yellow. Nice. We were ushered in to an unexpected back room Wong- Kei style (you know, the famous Chinatown joint....'upstairs, upstairs'!!) and ate a healthy, wholesome meal. Not overspiced, but tasty & well cooked. I had, utterly predictably, their Pad Thai which was excellent. We shared some veg in a coconut sauce and my chums 'did' some seafoody noodles and a red curry beef dish. Satisfying & frankly better than Suchis in Calverley Road. The staff were as polite as those at The Himalayan Gurkha (ie VERY!) and, because it is a little out of town, it had a more relaxed vibe. I was very pleased. I forced myself, for review purposes, to drink both beers on offer. I preferred the Chang...........
Charming little Thai restaurant along the end of Camden road. I only discovered this place recently, but had been put off the other Thai restaurant in Tunbridge Wells where the food is often greasy when we have had it (Sucsitra's). This place has very friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere. The food is very good - nothing unusual but they do a lovely Thai Green Curry and a beef dish I tried was particularly flavoursome. The prawn crackers as also top notch - they are pink and peppery and far more prawny than your average cracker! They do takeaway with a 10% discount, but don't deliver. However - if you are lazy like me, you can usually park directly outside to collect.
