We had a birthday meal here today!
A superb hospitality! Great food (home-made and tasty, not greasy at all). I had a starter of croquet with beetroot soup, mains of golabki (two lean mince and rice wrapped in a cabbage leaf in tomato sauce), nettle tea and a quality cappuccino plus still water...and it all came to £10! Awesome!
You cant miss it.
Service is polite and quick!
They have a selection of beautiful herbal teas (over 30 of them), great coffees, nice cakes. The atmosphere inside is very homely.
Would always recommend and wish the owner all the best!
Honestly, why haven't I been here sooner? I've lived in the area for two years now and until last weekend had never visited The Polonia Club. I'd heard amazing things through the grapevine, reviews spoke of huge portions and cheap prices and everyone who'd been spoke of friendly staff. In fact the only thing really stopping me from entering was the fact that I thought it might be a little cliquey - Polish food for Polish people.
Actually, Club Polonia was not like that at all. The staff were welcoming, the portions were huge and the food is a complete bargain. I ordered potato and cheese dumplings served with sour cream and would definitely do so again. My companion ordered the kiebasa and got 2 Polish sausages, a basket of bread and a side salad for £4.50. This place is incredible - a meal for two with a huge vat of steaming Earl Grey tea and wafer biscuits cost just £8.00!
Delightful, bizarre, a time warp to a time I can't actually name. Homely Polish food in wacky spot with wacky accoutrements, no obvious sign of how the place makes a living, but it seems to and good luck to it.
