This is a great place for Sunday lunch - whether you want a roast or somehing else. The menu here is huge! And everything looks so nice! There are quite a few blackboards dotted around describing the specials for the day - of which there are quite a few.Every time I've eaten here the food has been delicious. It's big and comfortable inside just on the edge of Sparsholt village, so is a perfect place to come after a long walk in the nearby countryside. There is a big selection of draughts and wines as well - which is always welome. To top it off the staff are attentive and very welcoming. Would recommend it.
Compared with normal pub prices, the food at The Plough is much higher (average £15 for a main course). However, it is definitely worth it. When I first visited, I was rather worried about the hugely extensive menu. Had they overstretched themselves, and would I be disappointed? However, on each occasion I've gone there since, whatever meal I've chosen has been delicious. I last visited about 3 weeks ago, for lunch (bacon & brie pannini with the most delicious caramelised onions - £6.95). It was filled to the brim and was worth every penny. The pub is very popular but, somehow, this doesn't affect the service. Quite an achievement! It is located in the countryside, has an ample car park and has a couple of resident (friendly) donkeys. Worth a trip - as a treat.
