I have had a varied experience with dumpling/Dim Sum restaurants, so was slightly skeptical when a good friend chose this place for a working lunch. I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the flavour within the contents.
They have plenty of healthy and veggie options - without losing the flavour. I highly recommend the crispy prawns.
I'm now looking forward to going back and craving for one closer to home.
So helpful! So friendly! SO MUCH FOOOOOOOOOD.
Warning: it is extremely easy to over-order at Ping Pong. Extremely. Especially during their special Lazy Sumdays (unlimited dim sum for £18.49.... bargain).
Being soy-challenged, I was very hesitant to eat at PP... I didn't think I'd be able to eat a single thing. But I was foolish. The host gave me a checklist with everything that had soy or eggs in it crossed off. Which left me with about 5 options. But hey!! That's better than nothing at all, and KNOWING is half the battle.
Me and my friends ordered WAY TOO MUCH FOOD. You think, a £3 dumpling order is not going to be enough.... better order 5 of them. That is foolish as well.
The duck, rice, and seaweed wraps were omgdelicious. The coconut and lime juice was lipsmackinglysweet. The vietnamese spring rolls were crunchygoodness. And the coconut mushroom soup was yummmmmm. (I couldn't think of a good word).
All in all, I was very impressed with what is ostensibly just another Asian food chain in London. This stands out.
Looked and looked for this restaurant, but I think it has been replaced by a Modern Sushi, which was very good.
