What a find! We heard about this place from a few friends and had a pretty strong seafood craving so thus a visit to Peschiera San Pietro was in order. We made reservations (needed) and the hostess was extremely nice to us. The place was buzzing on a Saturday night, beautiful ambiance with open kitchen where you can see them making fresh pasta. We skipped appetizers and shared a pasta primo of a green linguine dish with seafood ragu. Very good way to start the meal and they didn't bat an eye over handing us a second plate.
We moved on to our seconds. I got the 'fish & chips' which was fried tempura style with an agrodolce sauce and served with potato wedges. Amazing and served in a cute wire basket lined with newspaper. My boyfriend got the grilled fish platter which we both enjoyed though for the price it could have been a tad more substantial.
The wines are quite nice, we chose a Tuscan Vermentino which perfectly complimented our meal. Dessert was a succulent chocolate cake served over warm cream. A winning meal and service was superb. I will definitely be backHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 2981857598 May 2014
I can't believe this place doesn't have more reviews. The pastas are so good and fresh. Service is amazing but they do charge 3 euro for service.

I decided to try this place out because of all the yelp and trip advisor reviews but to my surprise, it was horrible!
My husband ordered the seafood pasta and I had the shrimp gnocchi. After the first two bites, we both felt like it tasted way too salty, but we kept on eating! A few more bites and we couldn't even tell it was a seafood dish because all we tasted was salt!!
We kinda just sucked it up and didn't complain about the food. A couple hours after we got back to our hotel, my husband started complaining of a stomach ache! I also was feeling queasy but nothing to his extreme. We just thought it was just over eating or indigestion! Shortly after that, he ran to the bathroom and was there all night!! Let's just say we would not recommend this place if you want seafood pasta!!
For the remainder of our stay in Florence, we both could not eat anything that remotely reminded us of those dishes we had that night...boo!!!!
I would not recommend trying this restaurant!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Val T.Cincinnati, United States12827212017 Mar 2014First to Review
So impressed. Fresh ingredients, simple preparations. Exactly what you expect great Italian food to be. We'll only be in Florence for three days, but I suspect we'll be back to this restaurant in that time.

GREAT wine!
We ordered from the food tasting menu. All courses were delicious, artfully prepared. Fish was perfectly cooked, and the pasta can't get any better. Great meal, pricy, but you will not regret.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan C.Redmond, United States048119 Mar 2016
They have a raw shrimp dish and it was the one of the best shrimp I've ever had. Service was excellent and they have me lots of complimentary stuff. Did not feel it was too expensive. Lots of seafood, as the name suggests.

A fabulous dining experience. Close to the train station and some hotels. Spent the night before Easter there and had a great evening. The octopus was perfectly seared and seasoned. I had the squid ink pasta and my sister had a grilled fish dish. Both of the dishes were superbly flavored. At the end of the night, they even gave us goody bags of biscotti made in-house for Easter. The waitresses were accommodating and friendly. Probably my favorite meal in Florence.

This restaurant was highly recommended and walking distance to our apartment, so we thought we would give it a try. We enjoyed two seafood pasta dishes and an appetizer. My only points for improvement was that the hostess was quite rude when we arrived without a reservation - it was quite early and the restaurant was not full. Our server was also quite rude when we ordered red wine with our meal - I know seafood is supposed to be paired with white wine, but it tends to give me headaches and I personally prefer red with tomato-based dishes. Great food...but I could have done without the attitude.

If ever in Florence, this is a must! We visited twice when we were there. They make their pasta in house and it makes all the difference in the world. We also had their grilled fish- omg! Amazing.

One of the worst meals I have ever had in Florence. We were so excited to see a new contemporary Restaurant looking at the prices on line we weren't expecting the best fish in town simply a fun atmosphere and decent food.
The atmosphere is lovely and the staff are very friendly. Then the food arrived! I ordered clams and mussels. I had to pick through the old and the fresh! Luckily there were more Fresh ones! My husband ordered the 'special of the day' octopus on a bed of purée. The purée tasted like it was made a day ago and the octopus was like rubber. The next course arrived and that's when we asked for the bill. My Tuna steak had been overcooked therefore was tasteless and Mario's First course of squid ink pasta and calamari was full of garlic and the calamari was rubber!
How is it possible to serve such bad quality food in a city where you have the best fresh and seasonal products!! I felt sorry for the young chef when he came to our table to apologize.
It is not the chefs fault it is the owners of the restaurant who buy the worst quality food! How disappointing .....Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
