The most impressive thing about The Penguin Society is the decor.
This shop has a Westie Dog faux knocker on the door and white roses about.
It is rather expensive (a dress will cost a hundred pounds here easily) but the whole appeal of Penguin is the way it's laid out, part Vivienne Westwood, part twisted mansion.
Most of the clothing here is by unknown designers you can be sure that no one will have your dress. The clothing is simple and not brightly coloured, a definite plus.
As you exit the shop there are some bejeweled belts in a glass case. It sounds a bit tacky but it looks okay.
I care about this store because it is quite an original presence on West End lane and I have previously seen more outlandish clothing here, more my unshrinking violet style.
A lovely shop in the middle of West Hampstead. Really cool clothes, a lot from Paris. Not too expensive and very trendy. The shop is cozy and the staff is very friendly. They have a lot of stuff in there so don't rish in here for 2 minutes, take your time and have a look around. Very chic dresses and perfect if you want to find something unique.
