If there is one place that I
can choose to went in for my computer accessories, PC Worldwas my first choice, why? First of all, because there
are many choices here, and another thing is the prices, it is very important to
me, where I can buy a very affordable accessory but have a high quality
performance and this shop provide avery low prices gadgets, PC's accessories
etc and the staff here is simply gorgeous, I like their presence.
Not the best organised customer service.
Ordered online for store pick up. Directed to the wrong pick up desk and then back again. Arrgh.
At the pick up desk. No eye contact, no 'hello', 'thank you' or 'goodbye', general confusion on the item and whether they had it in or not.
Paid, took my package, headed straight to the exit, hopefully never to return!
Pretty awful place staff seem to wander round in a daze every time you look at one for help they seem.to detect your helplessness and turn.away. Avoid!!!
Reasonable size shop with lots of different gadgets. Not bad for a central London store. They always seem to have deals on when I go in too.
What can I say about PC World? Well firstly, I only use them if I have time to wandering hopelessly around the store trying to find stuff. I try not to ask the staff because they only end up asking someone else, and ultimately they point in the wrong direction.
Secondly, it's been my experience that the shop-floor staff really don't know what they're talking about. For example, on one occasion three different staff members about dual-layer DVDs and I was advised variously that a) you couldn't get them, b) that you COULD get them but that they didn't really work, c) that DVD+ and DVD- were the same, d) that they would work on all players, and e) that they didn't sell them. Three staff members, five wrong answers. Good score, guys!
I've had bad experiences with just about every question I've ever asked in PC World, so now I avoid them unless I know exactly what I want and where it is in the store.
I bought my printer here at prices comparable to the internet and didn't have to pay for the shipping. The problem with ordering online is having to wait for the delivery. The great thing about a shop is you can have what you need on the day. PC World sells EVERYTHING that you can think of for your electronic needs. (Well everything that a general user like me could think of). Yes this is the place like Apple to release your inner nerd and check out all of the new gear related to your PC. They also sell digital cameras, cell phones, ipods, software, and all kinds of computer games if that is your thing.
I could go on about how much I hate PC world - that is the internet version, where you try and order on line or over the phone and then spend days trying to arrange your purchase to be delivered - frustrating to say the least. Still this is meant to be about the Tottenham court road branch, so I digress anyway, the store is a bit of a tardis, much bigger than you would expect so there is a good choice.
I was a bit stumped so asked one of the sales advisors who was really helpful and listened to what I was saying (I want CHEAP) and not give me the hard sell. All in all good advice given. Only criticism is that they really need some more people on the tills!!
Not a bad store, staff not really that helpfull. But I got what I needed in the end.
