Paul's Farnworth Fish Bar

Please please reconsider using Palm oil. I've been a Paul's customer for decades but seeing it palm oil I don't think I could return

Just had a fish & chips from Paul's on Derby Road. It was excellent. Not cheap, but the fish was great.

I do really like Paul's - they tend to always cook the fish from fresh and the chips are pretty nice to. Plus it always looks clean, I'm not even sure if the last time I went it they'd won an award for cleanliness

They do also do Chinese take-away, though I've not tried it myselfyet

I used to visit regularly however I got fed up of having to wait for ages. Then having to tell the staff my order dozens of times. Yes the food is nice when you get it but the service is too slow and forgetful for me.

If you choose to visit this chippy, be sure to get a large portion of well salted chips. These chips are certainly the best in the Halton area.


You can buy kebabs, chips, fish, pies, and some international food, which isn't especially good, with the notable exception of some chinese dishes.

Not a bad chipoil, but way below the standards of Marie Barrows, Millfield Road, Widnes. This place ain't a patch on Marie's but, to be fair, nothing is. Do yourself a favour and avoid yourself un-necessary disappointment. Skip this place and go straight to Marie Barrows on Millfield Road, Widnes and, remember, ask for a 'large (insist on a large) mixture and curry'. Tell em Ciggsy sent ya! You'll thank me for it! ;)

I went to pauls the other night for some salt n pepper ribs, the girls although helful seem to be very forgetful, however i was served by a man who took my order. then after seeing 3 or 4 customers come in and leave with there orders i asked where my order was by this time 25 minutes had passed. i was told yeah its on its way but we have had took cook rice and it takes a long time (bollocks i thought) so i waited another 15 minutes, then the guy said to me do you want a free bottle of coke. i said no thanks just the food i ordered 40 minutes ago i eventually got my oreder after waiting just under an hour. So all in all i was not impressed so a few weeks later i tried the lower house lane shop i ordered two meals and waited, a small boy come in after me and handed a list of meals over and said am goins to get my hair cut. he returned to his order and left i seid to the girl excuse me i ordered before him and am still waiting to which i was told oh yes but he had a big order so we got it out off the way. bad service, bad attitides, staff more interested in talking amongst them selves and to be honest the food quality is only about average on a good day.
