...Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone...
I never knew how much I enjoyed using a wash cloth in the shower until I moved to Europe, where they're not widely used (they're rarely in hotels and I couldn't even find any at IKEA!) While perusing the bath section at Orla Keily I spied some sweet stem jacquard "face cloths". They were £3.00 each - I bought four - and they've already provided enormous enjoyment! Plus, Orla Keily prints just can't help but make me smile!
In fact, they're so soft I'm thinking about going back for towels too! And did I mention the dresses?

lovely store. i went in during the sales and i was surprised to see that every style still had my size left (i am a UK 8). therefore my advice is don't buy anything unless it's on sale. i was particularly looking for a top that would go with the vintage skirt i got a few weeks ago. but i didn't ask for help from the salesgirls because they seemed to be very into themselves. overall they make it seem like a high end shop, and i do admit that it sort of stands out from the other covent garden stores.
Very popular with the ladies........
I'm not adverse to a bit of shopping. I'm a sensitive guy. And Orla Kiely is an often safe bet when buying for my opposite sex. It has a strong calm sense of design often revolving around her leaf motif. Deco meets a kind of northern European 60's minimalism. Great relaxed staff make the experience an added pleasure. Nothing for us men though, less the simple if expensive pleasure of giving.
Umm, can I live here?
No, really. Could I set up camp? Curl up on a three colour stem rug, pull up the flower blossom king duvet cover, flip my hair over into a multi stem embroidered towel? Rest my head on a blanket stem print pillow and my footsies on the tapestry cushion...
Think about it. I could totally store my personals in a tiny teacup print sling bag, pop my accessories in a crayon forest print tote, draft a set of emails before bed from the scribble spot flower A6 notebook, and write Yelp reviews on my cross hatch stem A5 composition book. I love what I'm writing, so why stop now?
Finally, I'd sip tea from the linear flower oval print mug, and take a healthy swig of water from the brita wottle bottle before switching off the tulip print wide shade table lamp and sleeping happily ever after. It would be like waking up to a dream... everyday!
Just one question: Are any of your products edible?
I love the designs, but the staff was so rude that I can't bring myself to go back. The sales girls followed 3 feet behind us around the _entire_ shop but when we turned around would awkwardly pretend to straighten something and not meet our eyes. Seriously? You can't even fake it by asking if we need help or something? I used to delight in the shop but simply can't stomach purchasing anything there now.
For the longest time, I only knew of Orla Kiely because of her colorful vinyl bags. In the states, that's usually the only thing you will find in boutiques. Little did I know, there's also loads of beautiful clothing as well! This shop is a bit of a maze. It's two shops connected by a lower level basement. It is impeccably designed; the window arrangements are always drool-worthy. I can't quite afford Orla Kiely clothes on a normal day but it is worth it to pick out one or two cute pieces to spice up your wardrobe!
She uses a lot of orange, pink, red, and green... Classic colors that never get old. If you catch a sale, don't pass it up! I got an Orla Kiely rolling suitcase for Christmas a while back and I was almost scared to use it for the first time! But I must say that it has held up quite well.
Great shop if you're into this designer. The missus happens to be, and we came here and I left 575 quid poorer but she got a fantastic purse and matching wallet set that she'd been eyeing online for the past few months. Worth it to see the smile on her face tho!
Really cute designs, really eye catching and memorable, I really like this store though it is a little pricey. I always have a little rootle through the sale rack to see if I can spot any bargains!
The bags I am not a massive fan of, but her dresses are really lovely and have attracted the eyes of many a famous person. Expect to pay dearly to look like Ms Moss however. Her patterns are quite samey, bold bright but good. Why not! This store is very inviting and the staff are really helpful. I have never bought anything, but I always pop in. Who knows.. one day. One can only dream!
Orla Kiely designs clothes which put lighthearted play fullness back into dressing. Expect to find simple shapes in colourfully bold, patterned knits and prints. Probably more popular is her collection of bags and purses made in signature fabrics, oil cloth and leather.
Orla Kiely has a distinct and unique style whether it is one that you buy into or not. In her only London store you will find the latest clothing and accessories collections. The only downside is that the prices are slightly higher than you might expect.
