Mollies Bar is a great little bar in the centre of Louth, attached to Olivers bar. Mollies is only open on a Friday and Saturday night making it really something for the weekend!
Despite it being reasonably small and rather difficult to get a drink at times, there is a great atmosphere in Mollies!
The DJ tends to play some cheesy tracks at times, it makes an ideal place for a girls night out, one that i have used for such purpose many times!
With a large dance floor, and a pool table it is difficult to become bored in Mollies!
Though if it does get too much for you, there is the walk through which takes you straight into Olivers which is a bit more relaxed over the weekend!
The drinks are reasonably priced and there is no entrance fee at Mollies!
Lovely, traditional-feeling wine bar. It's like being on holiday when you go to Olivers - feels a bit cut off from the real world (that could just be the alcohol talking). There's a nice, but small, outside patio area which is useful in the summer, and a good selection of drinks behind the bar.
In recent years Mollies Bar has opened at the back of Olivers for Friday and Saturday night dancing and this has changed the vibe of the place a bit, I think - it's pulling in a younger crowd and can be a bit more noisy and jostly. I think Olivers now competes with Kais in the wine bar plus dancing stakes, and it does well.
