Love, love , love this place!
Great mozzarella of course , but their salads are AMAZING! I wish they were in my neighborhood
We had a great dinner at Obikà Mozzarella Bar in the Campo die Fiori market square our second night in Rome. This chic Italian chain has several restaurant locations across the world and offers some amazing mozzarella and pizzas!
We started our meal with a bottle of chianti and an assortment of mozzarellas: Paestum, Volturno, Affumicata, Stracciatella di Burrata, and Ricotta di Bufala. The burrata was my favorite on the sampler platter. This mozzarella was very light and creamy in taste. The smoked mozzarella wasn't my favorite. I found the smoky flavor a little too strong, but it was still nice to try all of the mozzarellas.
It was difficult to chose between all of the great pastas, salads and pizza selections on the menu, but finally we decided on the N'Duja e Burrata Pizza. This pizza was great! I loved the N'Duja spicy salami. I was pleased that the salami packed a very spicy kick although you may want to skip this pizza if you easily get heartburn! The pizza also contained stracciatella di burrata and organic tomatoes to balance out the spiciness of the pizza.
We usually go to smaller hole-in-the-wall restaurants when we are in Italy, but this chic restaurant was a nice excuse to get dressed up. Service and food was great and if you sit outside there is plenty of people watching in the Campo die Fiori market square.
We stumbled across this cool bar while roaming the streets of Rome (ha!)
Cool vibe, great deep house music, nice dark ambiance. We stuck to the basics here. It's a mozzarella bar, so we went with the mozzarella tasting (4 ways), 3 dipping sauces (pesto, olive and sundried tomato). We also had the flatbread. BY FAR THE BEST mozzarella I have ever had!!! The pesto sauce, wow - just wow. There is something about the basil in Rome that you will not find elsewhere. The fragrance and flavor are like none I have ever tried before. We later ordered a pizza and it was just OK.
Service was great, although we sat outside where it's more of a bar atmosphere. Inside is more of a restaurant. Would definitely come back here if ever in Rome again.
This place offered a great introduction to Rome by serving up a range of buffalo milk mozzarella cheeses. I wasn't a big fan of the smokey cheese, but the liquidy cheese served in the bowl was really good. (I don't remember the exact name of that style.) The staff was also very friendly. The restaurant attracted well-heeled Italians during our late afternoon visit, so it didn't feel touristy.
Though Obika's become quite the little chain now, they source great fresh cheeses from the south of Italy and know what they're doing with them. Portions are huge, so be ready to do some complex sharings. Large selection of entree salads, which can be a hard thing to find in Italy. They also have a good wine and cocktail list.
The idea of a mozzarella bar is fantastic, and what better place to have business than in Rome?? I've been to the Obika in Tokyo, and the quality of cheese was top notch at both locations, but the freshness was evident in Rome. The pizza was amazing, and the staff was super nice and good at English.
out of our 9 days in Italy (rome, florence and venice) this was one of my favorite meals! I saw this place as we were walking through the streets. We took a look at the menu and as I saw the food being served I knew we had to try this place out. We got a cheese and meat appetizer and a pizza and it was out of this world. The flavors we tasted here were second to none. They have english menus and the wait staff were great! Don't go to Rome and pass this place up!
The food and wine are amazing here.. The pizza... Don't get me started..... Soooo good.. We stopped here at least 5 times in the week we were in Rome ... So good!
Clean, modern and reasonably priced restaurant with a great outdoor patio in front. Not far from the Pantheon, but feels slightly off the crazy tourist core. They serve a variety of mozzarella with a wide range of high-quality antipasto. Excellent pizza. Good wine selection with acceptable by the glass selections. Friendly, helpful, multi-lingual staff. The menu was more interesting than most nearby co petition. Worth a try.
This is a really wonderful place. It's a trendy minimalist mozzarella bar. Unfortunately there was no seat available, but I came to know with this bar at Selfridge's in London and in the NYC IBM building (atrium). Rome's bar is the nicest, as I see it. They should open more restaurants (in Germany for instance).
Great mozzarella! The portion size will leave you wanting more, but the staff is very friendly and the mozzarella is worth the price.
