Stopped by to catch a champions league match, it was packed on a Wednesday night. Not sure if that's the usual for a cl match night or if its because bayern were playing. Prob the latter, but I didn't bother to ask.
Typical Irish pub decor. Guinness, Kilkenny and Strongbow cider. Schlosser alt. For people who like crap beer, they have corona in bottles. Prices are standard for the area.
Why only two stars? At half time the bartender picks up my empty pint glass, dunks it quickly into a sink of soapy water, dunks it into a sink of non-soapy water and then puts it in the row of "clean" glasses. Took all of five seconds, if that.
Maybe that's typical of a busy pub anywhere in the world. Maybe I'm just a snob from California. But I didn't stick around for the second half.
Rather appropriately for what is at times a sports bar, this is a pub of two halves. Downstairs there are two TVs, volume high farting out sport and wafting it in your general direction. Fine, if you are interested in what they are smelling! Upstairs is much nicer, more like a proper pub. There was even, randomly, a room full of violin players! This is where you'll find me (not with the musicianspossess no talent in that areaI mean I'll be upstairs!). Usual Irish pub drink offerings, plus Jever Pils (my choice).
