Great fusion dishes and beautiful interior.
Been here 3 times now as I live around the corner and love it when Asian fusion is done right, considering I myself am a bit of an Asian fusion ;). The food here is SPOT ON. Almost as good as Bay Area/SF Asian food. HOWEVER service is shit.
- No menus for 20 min, had to get our own
- No "would you like another beer" had to ask TWICE
- Waited for 55minutes for our food to come out, no apologies
- Waiters ignored our party of 3 the entire time
- Unfriendly in general
I know it's Germany, I know service will not be the same in the states. But this is an EXPENSIVE resto in Charlottenburg, step up your game - AT LEAST apologize.
Well most reviews get it right. Nice enough place, couldn't sit outside unfortunately as it was full, but sat inside last Wednesday night. Had martabak as a starter - similar to a small quesadilla, but with minced beef as the filling. Tasty enough with the dipping sauce and salad garnish. Main course was Ped Lauch Deng, which was very tasty - not spicy which was a shame, but a full flavoured crispy duck breast. There are a lot of places within half a mile of this place and some of them were very busy and with the beautiful people too. I would eat here again, but probably only after trying other places. Btw had the Nu Mojito, which was different but good.
This is a cool place, with chunky modern dark wood tables and benches inducing a convivial atmosphere, as one often has to share the larger tables with strangers. The glass walls are illuminated by funky color-changing lights and adds to a slightly surreal ambience, like a fancy place from the film Blade Runner.
The food is generally very tasty, Thai of origin, with a healthy blend of Vietnamese and Singaporean, and you can order small or regular portions. My usual trick is to get a few starters and then order the 1 kilo of fried fresh king prawns, which means that one must always come here with a friend as that's a lot of prawns!
Service is usually pretty good, unless the place is packed, which is quite often during the weekends, so reservations are definitely recommended.
Overall, it's a nice place to take friends who want to try an unusual modern Asian bistro, and that's what I do.
Decent Thai food near our hotel. Pleasant service and tasty pad thai and chicken curry. For drinks we had the pina colada and Moscow Mule (spicy).
Really nice Asian Fusion, but its Burger today...
