the pub itself is pretty average, but if you are looking for a place to eat and have a drink, i highly recommend nottingham house. it is the best place to get a hearty pie in sheffield. they have an in house chef that makes an assortment of personal size pies daily (there is always at least one vegetarian option), but you better go early because they stop serving pies at 7, and often run out of pies even before then.  I have had the chicken and leek pie, which was delicious.  It was served with a heaping pile of mash potatoes and peas, and of course with plenty of gravy.  plenty of food and it only sets you back about 4-5 quid.  also on tuesdays (curry) and thursdays, they give free food with a purchase of a pint, so take advantage of that deal if you are in the area.
