Went here for lunch with my friend and his father. The landlord (Simon) and his wife are very welcoming and friendly. Inside, the pub is modern, with leather seats etc, but if you're looking for a traditional English country pub, don't worry, this isn't a gastropub. Outside, there is a pretty garden with plenty of seating (including a tent type thing) and even a French bowls area. I can only speak for the burgers, but they were homemade and extremely good. The chips are also very good - crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. There can be a little wait for your food, but this is because it is being freshly prepared in the kitchen. Prices are a little high (£11 for burger and chips) but as I say, the food is good. The price is what prevented a five star rating from me.
Excellent beer. Very good food. Would be five star if menu was more extensive (no white meats) and does need refurbished loos. Gets very busy and no booking so get there early!
