Lovely looking pub in a nice setting.
First waitress was pleasent but was clearly coming to the end of her shift.
Salad bar was a nice touch. Carvery was dissapointing, potatoes and parsnips had clearly come out of the freezer, dry and tasteless. Best part of the meal were the puddings.
Overall it was okay, wouldnt rush back.
Why cant we give 0 stars!!
This place was awful and I wouldnt go back there, they cant cook a steak properly (medium rare shouldnt be burnt to a cinder and tough as shoe leather) the steak was also possibly one of the worst pieces of meat ever to be put on a plate, I say meat although it was mainly fat with a thin sliver of meat on it.
Usual menu for one of these sort of places and frozen chips were barely cooked.
We ordered a mixed platter thing as a starter and I'm not sure what was mixed about it to be honest, it all tasted the same like it had all been thrown in the deep fryer/turbochef together.
We didnt stay for a desert funnily enough so cant comment.
