Took my Audi here as the aircon had stopped working. This garage was the nearest option through my AA extended maintenance cover.

My wife rang them on a Tuesday morning and they said to just bring the car down and they'd look at it.

But when I took it down at about 2pm they said I'd have to book it in for another day, as my wife should have been told on the phone to bring it in before 0930 am, as they require a full day to diagnose aircon problems.

I booked it in for the Thursday morning. (they're open 0830  1730) They called me at about 0230 pm to say it was ready for collection. £49.99 excess charge for the work .

    Aircon is now working again.

Fairly friendly and helpful staff, no fuss. Would use again.

    No Stars at all.

I feel they are scamming to make money.

I had MOT with them which failed on suspension arm joint dust cover split  (to fix £134.40) and 1 wiper blade not clearing the screen (to fix £7.99)

also stated that both front brake hoses deteriorated ( to fix costs £115.24)

lower mount engine deteriorated (to fix £98.35) and nail in front tyre - puncture repair (to fix £12.50)

in total they want £368.48 from me.

however - they are doing some work for me and its costing me £323. i hadn't seen my car since last Thursday. It frustrates me to know that unless I phone them. They won't call me to update me and even when I do get them on the phone - they can't wait to put the phone down on you but saying - i will call you back when i find out whats happening. but they won't phone back!!!

Person on reception should take a course on customer services!

I would advise take you money elsewhere - you will not be a happy bunny with Halfords Autocentre - SW17 9HP

Do not take your car here!!!
I did as its close to where I work and thought they would be trust worthy as its a big name. They told me my car would be ready on Saturday and it wasn't done til Tuesday. They are difficult to contact for updates. Staff are unfriendly as well as unhelpful. I don't know anyone whos had a good experience here.

I booked my car for an MOT test at Mitcham branch SW17 9HP
Brought the car at given time 10 o'clock in the morning.
Half price offer ( WOW ).Why not.
Left the car with them for about 2hrs (everybody makes mistakes).
Pass but with two advisory items
    -EPS light on
    -long parking brake travel (handbrake).
amber items-braking system needs attention (according to halfords).
Disc and pads all round (upgraded discs and pads, not standard Oem's) were all changed last year.Approx 6 months ago.Not a lot of driving done since.
They rang, its time to collect my car.Of course this f* have already updated my MOT history on the computer (with two advisory items on it).
I have a feeling that this garage is scamming customers and they put advisory items on if half price MOT offer is presented and con them on the work required or unrequired as it may be the case.
    Now to the point,
less then 45 minutes later car went to Honda dealer for a full sevice.Technicians at Honda checked the car in and out.Every detail on it.
    Results,
Nothing wrong with the car at all.Everything on the car works tip top.
-EPS lights when you turn the key,the second you start the engine light turns off (same like most lights on the dash, its normal)
-handbrake and brakes all in very good condition (no adjustments or attention needed at all)
Car very weel looked after on the 54 plate with 54000k only since new.Full main dealer history and always well maintained.Never any advisory items on any MOT's in the past.
I would NEVER use Halfords again, either their shops or their repair centres, for anything and I would strongly recommend anyone against going anywhere near them.
Anyway, if you made it this far congrats. I know that was long, but I just needed to get it out there
*definition of AMBER ITEMS by Halfords
-amber items.some concerns registered.if not rectified, these items need monitoring to ensure safety and/or reliability and prevention of additional costs. Please see invoice report.
