Fantastic little shop! So small and narrow with picture frames and prints lining the brick walls. Shelves on either side with bits and bobs - mugs with hilarious slogans, pill boxes, frames, and little poster prints. They have huge selection of posters from movie scenes, adverts, comics and music bands.
I bought the most gorgeous photographic mixed with paint - it was one of 200 and it is my pride and joy! They always have new and fun pieces and the lady who owns the store is fantastic!
Don't forget to scroll through the copious quantities of cards outside the shop! You will end up buying a few.
Mundo doesn't allow photographs to be taken in their establishment. Fair enough. I was standing outside the premises, taking a photo, when some woman flew out of the store yelling the policy. When I said OK and proceeded to make my exit, she called her manager, freaking out, acting as if I was some kind of hardcore criminal shoplifter. Seriously, chill out. I'm taking a picture not destroying the world.
If the staff were a little less frenzied this place would be an awesome shop. It has a multitude of greeting cards, prints and knick knacks that would be great gifts. I like the wares they have to offer, but I don't appreciate getting verbally assaulted over the most minor transgression known to man. The service is not hospitable.
Mundo is somewhere to stock up on birthday cards. They have some really funny cards here and stuff you wouldn't find in you local chain card shop. They also have posters and screen prints which aren't my thing really but they seem to be popular with tourists. It has quite a hippy vibe to the place as there always seems to be incense burning in here and they have quite a few cool candles in various sizes and shapes. It's a nice gift shop and the prices are reasonable.
This is a super sweet shop that specializes in all things collectable, well maybe not all, but cool collectable things. they also have a huge selection of aromatic candles, you can tell you are approaching Mundo when the scent of essential oils, or patchouli, or some of that stuff they use on incenses attacks your nose. I like the store in general, some of the merchandise I find to sweet and slightly to romantic, if you know what I mean, but they have some good stuff in store, its worth a quick browse.
Mundo is a great place to go when looking for random pointless gifts. I stumbled upon this place when trying to find Brick Lane and I enjoyed it greatly. The objects here can be found in many stores that are filled with random quirky stuff, but they do have a good selection and I had some great giggles when reading some of the coasters. I actually ended up buying a lot of little trinkets from this store and would definitely go back next time I am in London. It was a typical shop one would find in San Francisco and that is refreshing.
