For whatever reason, you only have a crisp (or crumpled) €10 note to spend on lunch. You're above scouring Edeka, Aldi, or Lidl for a cheap sandwich or salad because you're reaaaally craving something a little more substantial and flavorful on this dreary winter day. And you can even make it to the Bülowstraße/Yorckstraße area in practically no time at all.

The lunch menu at Munch's Hus is what you need right now. And tomorrow. And the day after that. (Variety is the spice of life and Norwegian cuisine in this part of town: the daily specials change every day and don't repeat week after week.)

There are three types of dishes to choose from: meat, fish, or vegetarian. I've always been happy with their fish dish of the day--it's a Scandinavian restaurant after all. For under €7, you can enjoy a decently sized piece of fish cooked to tender perfection, along with some vegetables on the side and a bread basket. It's a balanced meal that you'll find little to complain about.

Great choice for good food, but the location is a little outside of the main downtown area. We were looking for something unique to eat, and Munch's Hus certainly fit that bill in a delicious way! The walk from the Yourkstraße station was't too bad, and from downtown that's only 2-3 stops and a quick ride. Your best be is to make a reservation; we didn't and they only had two non-reserved tables; luckily we got there early and snagged one, but if we'd gotten there a little later we might not have.

Munch's is on the higher end of casual; I felt okay in jeans and a Henley shirt, but the service and atmosphere is a little higher class. Service was friendly, and pretty typical pace for Germany. Menus were only in German though, so if you don't read it, make sure you have Google Translate handy!

My wife's salmon and potatoes was excellent; perfectly cooked and with a good salmon taste (but not an overly fishy taste). I went with the moose, which I've not had in years. The portion size of the moose meat was a touch small, but the quality was high (not too gamey and not over cooked) and the potatoes, chestnuts, and lingonberries together tasted great and filled me up. Overall a good meal, and one we'd happily repeat.

Moose with potatoes, chestnuts, and lingonberries; salmon with potatoes.

Absolutely authentic and nice Norwegian restaurant. Famous for the fish. All fresh and cooked by a Norwegian cook. Nice atmosphere and mindful staff. The portion of a main course is good and filling. Cozy on a cold evening when it's dark outside.

Not the cheapest around but an interesting alternative to all the standard fare, this is a nice place to go to if you are looking for something less usual - Northern European dishes, particularly seafood. Mains were alright, slightly bland but as I'm not a Scandinavian food connoisseur this could just be the way it is designed to be. Try the cloudberry jam mousse for a Nordic dessert!

The location is very much an advantage, not too crowded or busy, but rather a relaxed neighbourhood restaurant quite like something you might find in London. Friendly and attentive but not overbearing waiters. Debit and credit cards are accepted, including American Express.

I was super excited to come for multiple reasons. Firstly, I was stoked to finally have made it to a Yelp event, secondly I love exploring new restaurants, and thirdly I love Scandinavian food.

Munch's Hus is in an area I normally don't frequent that much, but it is super close to a U-Bahn stop, so getting here is really easy. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very cosy with Norwegian music playing in the background. The menu ranging is not big, but all the dishes sound delicious and the ones we had, all were able to keep up with our expectations. It took me some time to be able to decide, but with a beer in one hand and Elkblood (mixed drink from berries and vodka - oh god), I was finally able to make my decision. I went with the Kjottkaker, Norwegian meatballs (I am sure many of you know the Swedish/Ikea version of that Köttbullar). I received 3 massive hand-made meatballs, potatoes and cabbage. Everything was delicious and filled me up to the max.

The service at Munch's Hus was also great. Very attentive waiters, who were up to explaining everything, if we had any questions. The prices are also ok, considering the quality and service.

All in all, a great discovery and I will definitely be coming back at some point.

      Alcohol!!! :D

I waited 45 min for my lunch and there was only one other table occupied at the restaurant. The food was overly greasy and drenched in sauce. Not the typical fresh Scandinavian fare that I am used to. What a disappointment!

Fantastic! I went here for lunch by myself and it was absolutely wonderful. The Ling fish was cooked to perfection and the dessert was to die for. Best fish meal I've had in Berlin by far!

My wife and I went there Tuesday night and thought it was great. Fish dishes were good. I liked my soup and Susan liked her salad. Prices were what you'd expect for dishes. Paintings on the walls were replicas of paintings by Edward Munch without The Scream, which was fine.

Wow! What a place. Great Norwegian food. Had a great mixed starter, a lovely lamb shank and washed it down with an Aass beer. Great!
