Have you ever been coming to the end of your Sunday dinner full to the brim pushing that last bit of turnip around your plate and you start thinking, I wonder where this turnip came from and I wonder how it was packaged? Okay maybe it is just me who thinks like that, but if you even briefly think these crazy thoughts then you must visit Millview Farm.
Anne Stone is the Proprietor of a small farm shop- and land that is quickly gaining a reputation as the best organic vegetables Northern Ireland has to offer. You can get these organic vegetables from St Georges market every Saturday but where is the fun in that? You should definitely go to Millview farm where you can pick your own vegetables that include; potatoes, chard, mangetout, sugar snaps, broad beans, peas, courgettes, peppery white turnips, and delicious juicy tomatoes.
There is something very masculine about picking your own vegetables from the ground, you feel like a hunter gatherer even if there is a female advising you on the best way to pick your food without ruining it. I managed to pick a whole meal without using a spear.
The only thing about Millview farm is that it does not have any set opening hours, so it is a bit of a lottery but I suppose you will experience the thrill of the chase or drive in this case. The only advice that I can give is that if there is a sign saying closed at the end of the lane then the farm is, you guessed it, closed.
