Oh my god!!! The best meal out in ages!!! Had lunch here today with my two elderly aunts and uncles,
The decor was fresh and calm and clean!!our waiter Luke was lovely, Not just his looks!
He was great, so polite and helpful.
The food was to die for literally, all of us had three courses, the
starters: we chose were three crayfish&prawn cocktails, and myself and my uncle had the 'smoked duck with feta and beetroot salsa with balsamic glaze!
Mains: two peppered steaks - fantastic! And my aunts are more than picky about their steaks!
Two sea bass, I never choose fish when I'm out but I decided to this time so glad I did, it was life changing!!
And the last main chosen was the slow braised beef my aunt totally loved it!
Deserts: 4 roulades and one fruit salad my uncle loved the brandy snap basket!
And cost was brilliant under £100.00 for 5 people to have three courses and we shared a lovely bottle of red wine!!
Just want to say to huge thank you to the very talented head chef she was amazing!!
A night in Salisbury en route somewhere else, has meant a pleasant stay in this sweet hotel. It's a bit old and a bit new : the corner property must've been a town house with lovely period features, the hotel is adjoining and more "modern". Reception was friendly and warm, staff have been polite and helpful. The bedroom was spacious and clean. A big four-poster bed was a little on the soft side, but husband said his was quite firm (we have different preferences obviously). There's wifi, an iPod dock, decent sized LG telly... So overall it's well kitted out. Ball-and-claw bathtub with bubbles and jets (never seen that combination before), as well as a spacious shower and lots of natural light.
We had a good breakfast with all that you could desire from Continental to American options, and the local options in between. Remember Wiltshire means bacon so you have to have some !
HOLY ASS. What good food!
On our way to Salisbury Chapel, we stopped in here for lunch. The entire restaurant was totally empty which kinda scared me at first, but we gave it a shot anyway. Our server, Luke, was ridiculously polite to the point where it almost made me feel awkward -- I wanted to tell him "lighten up, we're cool!" Decor is classy and attractive. They have a two-or three-course lunch special (I can't remember exactly what the price is, but it's a great deal). I had the calamari appetizer (delicious!) and the wild mushroom & tomato risotto for my entree....that shit was so good I could just stick it right in my butt.
For the price, it's well worth it. So delicious!!
I have been here a few times and from experience this is a very nice place to be.
The restaurant is reasonably priced and the service is outstanding, along with the setting. Whether you are running a business meeting with a meal of just looking for a good place to eat, this is the place I would recommend.
The hotel itself caters for guests visiting the area of for pleasure as well as for business.
Nice old Hotel, near to the Old Salisbury, and near to the Shopping area. The breakfast room is poor, the food not hot enought. But the room was ok, clean and comfortable. Parking places directly without charge at the hotel.
A year ago I wrote a 5* positive review of this restaurant which I have been meaning to update. Over the past 12 months the quality, choice and service in this restaurant have declined and it is no longer value for money. There are better places in Salisbury without having to look or travel too far!
