    A good taxi company, they may not have the poshest cars but that is probably how they manage to be good value.

    I like them because the drivers are friendly and they are
    very reliable.

    A great cheap alternative to Addison Lee and Black Cabs. I love Meadway. Call them the next time you are coming back from holiday via Heathrow. You will get door to door service for less than the price of a Heathrow Express ticket.

    We booked Meadway for 2 airport transfers on the strength of the reviews here. I'm glad we did. They arrived well in time, were very polite, very efficient. Booking was easy. The cars were smart and the drivers helpful. They were a heck of a lot cheaper than many other options.

    I can't fault them. I'm going to continue to use them.

    Really good service I can not compare to any other company!I am pleased and surprised by the competitive prices and kind attitude!

    I have it on good authority from my aunt that Meadway is reliable service, and not too expensive. She couldn't recommend the company enough.
    So a few weeks later when I called to ask for a quote for the price of a transfer from one point to another within, I spoke to an extremely unhelpful man, who barked questions at me and ignored most of what I said. My highlight:
    Are you paying by cash or card?
    Card.
    Which card?
    HSBC, I said.
    Which TYPE of CARD?!
    Credit card?
    Credit card!
    (Forgive me for misunderstanding your question! I was just unsure of what you meant. No need to bite my head off.)
    At one point in the exchange after (politely) correcting the destination when he confirmed it with me (he mistook Raynes Park for Wimbledon), he actually went silent for a long period and didn't respond to me while I sat going Hello? Can you hear me? Hello?. (Best 15 second silent lesson I've been taught my whole life.)
    I'm assuming he was having a very bad day, but his tone was so aggressive and he was so insolent that I decided not to use the service before the phone call had even ended. When he asked for the credit card number, I asked him (again, all very politely!) if it was possible to know the amount without giving my payment details and he shouted the amount at me like I was a moron for asking. I felt that was unnecessary considering I'd opened the call by stating explicitly I'd only wanted a quote.
    I'd be willing to let it go, but it's too bad that my sister also agreed that she has had a similar experience with them. For all we know, they are on time and reliable and all the good things we were told they were, but the unhappy exchange I had with their operator means I won't recommend this service to anyone again.
    If this company wants to preserve it's good reputation, I suggest they find a way to fix/replace their phone operators, but I have no reason to believe I should waste my time calling them again.
