Matalan

This Matalan store is far better than the one located in the centre of Southampton. Although it's smaller because it's only on one level, it's much easier to find what you're looking for because the clothes, etc are laid out in a way that allows you browse without confusion and there's also a fitting room should you wish to try something on.
There is a small homewares section that sells smaller items such as vases, bathroom accessories, dining sets and the like. This store also sells gifts, CD's and DVD's (not new releases). The store itself is big, clean and open but unfortuantely there are often long queues at the checkouts. One of the benefits of this store is the free car park that serves the few shops in this small retail park.

The Matalan in Eastleigh is very big, and houses all sorts of things from Kids, Women's and Men's clothing to homewares and DVD's. There are a lot of checkouts at the front of the store, but normally only about 2 or 3 open - even when there is a big queue. The changing rooms are fine, nothing fancy but there is private space to get changed and mirrors to see yourself in.
The clothes and shoes are very reasonably priced and cater to all tastes, young and old. This is something you don't see often in shops and it's nice to have somewhere where the whole family can go to shop and no one is bored!
The homewares are again extremely good value for money, and modern and nicely designed. The DVD's are a bit hit and miss, sometimes you can get a good bargin but othertimes they can be a bit overpriced.
The store is clean and tidy and well organised.
