This is the most amazing Indian restaurant I have ever been in. When you walk in to the restaurant you instantly feel like you have stepped into a restaurant in India. The walls are decorated with beautiful candlebras and wall plaques with Indian music playing in the background. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. The food is simply amazing and reasonably priced. I'd recommend the chicken korma which is by far the best I have ever tried, followed by gulab jamin for dessert, yum!
I recently ate at what used to be Masala Jaks, now Ashoka at Springfield Quay, Glasgow.
Service was appalling!!
I had tickets for the cinema and had 2 hours to spare for a meal, plenty of time I thought, not if you dine at Ashokas!!! Waited over 1hr between courses, this was after speaking to the waiting staff about the delay in service!!
Staff were very unhelpful, informed staff that movie was starting in 5 mins and since I still hadn't been served our main meals I just wanted the bill. Staff informed me that mains would be served soon. I asked for bill again, however we were served main meal instead with only a few minutes until movie started in Odeon cinema next door. Staff wouldn't take main meals off the bill since they had been served to the table even although there was no time to eat!!!
Had to pay full bill and get main meals as a take-away.
To make matters worse, missed the first 5 mins of movie and when got home afterwards, realised that the nann bread and rice were missing from take-away!!
If you go to Ashoka's at Springfield Quay, go after the cinema and remember to take some snacks with you to keep you going. You might want to take a sleeping bag too!!!!
