Perfectly situated on the edge of The Stables Market, the little restaurant/ smoker's den blends in a treat.
I really recomend getting here early, or stalking this place in the early summer for a feel good treat..
Sit outside. Smoke some Shisha. And watch the world pass by while the the aromas of straberry, chocolate, and coffee flavoured smoke dances around your thoughts.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Linzi M.San Francisco, United States36378824615 Aug 2009
No one is getting the shisha!
I had to restrain some over enthusiastic Yelpers from jumping at the thought of hookah in this very cool Camden restaurant. They'd had enough booze and I didn't want to smell like fruity smoke forever. Killjoy!
But if you're not going to have the shisha, you have to sit upstairs. It's like a huge Moroccan living room, with big tables, perfect for sharing. I love the quiet hideaway vibe of this place and have finished many a crazy Camden night there.
The food is fairly average here, I think the decoration and shisha are what sells the place. And the service is so slow, we waited over 20 minutes for a falafel wrap. But it's a cool place, I'd definitely recommend a visit.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Yee Gan O.London13892298785828 Apr 2009
I was introduced to Marrakech by the Yelp crew on the recent UYE @ Grand Union. After we discovered that the bar stopped serving food at 9pm (yup, you can tell you're in London!), Laura N led us to this cool Moroccan restaurant.
It was a cool venue to sit outside on the cushions, try to guess the flavour of the shisha and share plates of yummy hummus with pita. No toilets here but we soon found some nearby. I think Red was also impressed to have 2 huge cyborgs with blinking lights standing over us - decorations from the nearby nightclub.
We were there too late at night to people watch properly but it must a fascinating place to sit and watch the world go by.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Sarah O.London11129225 Sept 2010
Been here a couple times and they serve my absolutely FAVOURITE cup of Chai in London. Seriously, I crave their Chai like Madonna craves botox...okay, bad example but...
The staff is super friendly, the hookah is nice, especially on a sunny day (it has been known to happen for an hour or so!) when you can sit outside and tourist watch. I did have one bad day when a group of street cleaners sat down at about 11 am one Saturday and blew cigarette smoke in our faces and talked very loudly without even being customers. Really wished the staff would have said something to them, it ruined my day :(
All in all, fun place to hang out!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Michelle G.Waco, United States48216 Aug 2016
Just an FYI, this place is no longer here! It almost looks as if there was never a restaurant/hookah lounge here in the first place. Don't waste your time wondering around The Stables looking for it! Just enjoy what the market DOES have to offer.

Puff, puff, puff. If you are looking for shisha in London you'll struggle with the smoking ban. Marrakech has solved that problem with a large outside area that wraps around the building, under cover and with a selection of cushions and low tables.
After a heavy night out, getting some yummy food, a mint tea and a shisha is a perfect finish. It's cash only so make sure you come prepared but it's totally worth the extra trip to the cash point for that hummus!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Leon C.Wellington, New Zealand687100370020 Dec 2008
Marrakesh is a great Moroccan restaurant in the busy Camden market. The food is relatively cheap and there is a great range of dishes to try.
You can sit outside and smoke some hashish, but my favourite place is upstairs. There is a real authentic feel to the décor and you feel transported from the busy market.
With so much choice for food in the market, Marrakech sits between the stalls and a fully fledged restaurant for quality and price.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Martina O.Hackney Wick, London3429318230 Dec 2008
I am in love with Morocco so I'm a total sucker for Moroccan restaurants. This place is aptly situated at the entrance to the Stables Markets which is reminiscent of the Souks.
Outside is a host of colourful lanterns which makes the place look really inviting. Inside I think upstairs is the best place to sit. Decorated with colourful cushions and candles and has an overall atmosphere of relaxation.
We had the mint tea here which was nice, we also sampled the apple sisha pipe which was good fun. The waiters here are lovely.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Amy M.London522419812 Nov 2008First to Review
Marrakech cafe is a sweet little Moroccan themed place on the edge of The Stables Market. They serve the usual Moroccan food that you would expect-homous, pitta, cous cous with a variety of meats. The food is OK but it's the decor of the place that attracts me to Marrakech. I love the sofas and cushions outside and it's a lovely spot to chill out with friends, it's very comfort ale and welcoming. I would say it's one of the nicer places to get a bite to eat in the market but only because of the decor. The staff there were really friendly but I wouldn't go back if it was just for the food.

I wanted to check out Camden Town and smoke shisha. So, I decided to club both my activities after looking for a shisha cafe in Camden. Let me tell you, I got lost in the west yard, and nobody there knew anything about the cafe. Instead, look for or ask for Cyborg. Marrakech is diagonally opposite to Cyborg.
It's a tiny looking cafe around the corner. The first thing you will notice is people smoking shisha (That's how I found the place after wandering around west yard for over 30 minutes). And trust me, even when you are looking for the cafe, time flies by! Even those who hate window shopping can spend hours glancing through punk-stuff, handcrafted ornaments, vintage clothing and many more.
There was only one staff at the cafe. The menu read of many cold and hot Mediterranean dishes. I was impatient, tired, hungry and just wanted to sit down. I didn't waste time in ordering. That's very unlike me, I tell you. I ordered for a passion fruit flavoured shisha, a vegetarian falafel and ginger beer. It was a sunny afternoon. And, I was thirsty! After ordering I paid and waited outside under covered low-seating-cushioned area. With lanterns hanging from the roof, Arabic music playing in the background, you definitely get the feeling of being at Marrakech.
After a while my ginger beer and shisha arrived. Well, honestly, I have smoked better shisha. Whilst smoking shisha and checking out passers-by my tummy began to grumble. The seating area outside is not too big to accommodate many people. You may end up sharing you copper plate (that's placed on every table) with another guest there, which is OK!
Finally, my falafel arrived! I took a bite and yummmm!! It was delicious! A little crunchy, a little warm, and not at all dry on my palette.
Overall, it was a decent experience.
The shisha cost me £12, falafel was for £4.50 and the ginger beer was for £1.50. A quiet me-time in the buzzing Camden town cost me £18. Yikes! But, that's London for you.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
