The problem with the way the mail is treated is down to bad management and not the postmen and women.
Unless you were a postman you would never usually have any reason to visit Manchester Mail Centre. It's a huge, sprawling sorting and distribution office on the Oldham Road.
Unfortunately, we have one of the smallest letter boxes in the world meaning that our mail always ends up going to the Manchester Mail Centre for us to collect when we get home from work. And the amount of times I've forgotten to take my girlfriend's ID when I've been going to collect mail for her. So annoying!
Usefully, there's a car park here right by the collection office which is great if you want to nip in. Parking on the Oldham Road is tricky.
Apart from the annoyingly dead strict rules about having to have the correct ID for whatever you're collecting, there's always at least one if not two guys serving so it won't take long to collect your parcel.
Two separate letters were sent from South Wales to Manchester, neither letter has been seen to this day, both contained very important documents, I will never send anything via Royal Mail again and I will be glad when they finally close this pile of shit that is supposed to be a public service, I hate them with a burning passion
Royal mail should be ashamed, it is about time the name Royal was removed, and the word mail for that matter as the service is a disgrace, and they do not deliver.
Mail, ?? what mail, lost items, delays, expensive, no customer service, telephone never answered, weeks of calling numbers and still no reply! Complain by e mail, a week later get a standard unhelpful reply that you cannot reply to!!
Asked a postman and he gave me some more telephone numbers to ring direct, (as he was fed up with complaints phones are never answered, first one call cannot be taken, the other told me to call another number, guess what that was engaged every time you call it.
When will anyone get this business back on track?
Parcels not delivered, no card left, then returned to sender not collected!! recorded delivery!! what a joke, signed for yes, but not by the person it was sent to, another lost item!
Compensation just not worth it, sooner the mail is privatized the better as there is no control over the service any more. Another once great British business we can all be ashamed of now.
Sack them all and start again seems like the only answer.
