Good large portions, good selection of beers and great service. Great patience from the staff putting up with the rude middle class tourists and their children from south east of our fine country.
Boats and the estuary outside, nice wooden beams and old pictures around inside. Tribute, Bucket of Blood and Dartmoor inside mewell just Tribute actually. Very drinkable. Lovely setting.
They were playing Magic FM. I don't mind the music but the talking on the radio is annoying in a pub setting and the adverts even more so.
This is a fantastic pub in the cornish village of polruan, it is situated on the quay where the ferry from Fowey docks. The menu is your usual pu grub, with a specials board and a good selection of fish. The shepherds pie is really good, as is the fish crumble. The prices are low and the meals of a good standard. The bar has a good choice of lagers and a range of local beers from the local St. Austell brewery. They also serve decent coffee. The interior is a bit tired in the bar area, however, there is an elevated dining area with a serving/ordering counter. The pub also has a pool table and a dart board. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the service excellent. Highly recommended.
The food in this pub was absolutely awful!! We tried it on 3 occasions, just in case they were having a bad day, but it just got worse!!
We gave up in the end, and started eating at Polruan's other pub. It was a nicer pub all round. Friendlier, good food, and helpful staff.
