Llandaff fields stretch out from the city Centre to the village of Llandaff. The avenues of lush green trees, the sound of the River Taff and open grassy spaces are perfect for picnics, sporting events, walks and also fishing. I spent a lot of time walking through Llandaff Fields last summer, it was actually the first time I had ever been into the wide open fields, and I found it hard to understand that it was actually real, where had I been for the past 16 years? I will always remember the first day I walked through the parkland, pure blue sky's, warm afternoon sun, and a bottle of London Pride. I have watched many football games in the park since and other sporting events, watching the army soldiers train is quite amusing as well. Around the park there are quite a few small pubs which can be pleasant to call in and have a few drinks on a warm day. Walking through the park in rainy weather can be quite annoying because the pathway takes you around a lot of the outskirts of the park and it's hard to cut across when the grass is soaking wet. I love the walk into town through the park, 20 minuets of fresh air, no pollution and just the soothing sound of birds singing in the trees. The park is popular with all age groups and during summer young people find it enjoyable to dive in and out of the River Taff from the grassy banks, but I wouldn't really advise trying this since the water is full of rubbish and broken glass from the all insanely drunk people who walk through the park from a night out in Cardiff. This is one of my favourite places to be in the summer and I would like to explore more areas in this grassy haven.
This is a massive wiide open space surrounded by trees, you can walk for mile wheather it be with your lover, your kids or your dog this is a lovely peacefulkl place just outside the city centre.
there are shops and pubs near by not to mention butchers and bakers so why not grab yourself a baguette and a bottle of wine plock yourself under a tree and watch the world go by.
There is a childrens play area and tennis courts.
Noy sure if the public pool is still open as it is some years since i lived in cardiff but all in all a good FREE day out.
Llandaff fields is a great place to walk the dogs and take the children. In fact, you can see all kinds of exercise taking place here - joggers, cyclists, football matches and the constitutional Sunday afternoon stroll. Llandaff fields reaches from the city centre to the village of Llandaff. The park is popular with all age groups and on a Saturday afternoons there is always a football match to watch. Llandaff fields is beautiful in autumn as all the leaves fall off the trees. A perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. Another great Cardiff park as it has plenty to offer all year around.
Llandaff fields has good facilities for all sports all year round with toilet & changing room facilities. An ideal place to walk the dog, take the kids to the park. There is also horse riding facilities & lessons available near by. Although parking facilities are not at their best.
