On my recent trip to Marbella, I decided to have a little look around Malaga before making the journey down the coast.
It's easy to make it into town from Malaga Airport - just jump onto any A bus and pay the driver. The bus will make everal stops but if you tell the driver where you want to go, they will give you a shout as to where to get off. The journey into the town centre will only take about 15-20 minutes
Malaga is relatively small and easily walkable. The central bus station is right next to the train station and a 15 minute walk to the picturesque and fun old town with its little lanes, big public squares and shops
The Larios Centro Comercial shopping centre is a few minutes from the bus station and gives a nice air-conditioned escape and convenient stopping point on the walk to the old town
There is a nice mix of shops, spread out over 2 floors - interesting to see how many brands have become international these days. I was able to purchase some local Iberico ham from a little deli downstairs
There are also clean toilets and a choice of eateries serving everything from very traditional tapas to kebabs to takeaway sushi
