The food was brilliant. The service was also great. Three of us had 3 courses and wine for £60 which is decent.
We were told that the place is under new management so it's worth a shot. I truly recommend it. For the price range it's a very good restaurant.
I always thought this was an Italian but after finally visiting it is definitely a pizzeria!
I had their namesake pizza which had aubergine, cherry tomato, Parmesan and heaps of rocket. It was really delicious, fresh toppings, tasty thin base with that wood fired flavour. They don't have much wine choice, but their house red is very fruity and easy to drink, plus a very generous 'glass' size (just realised why I'm so tired this morning!).
We had a tastecard so 2 pizzas with wine and service came to £25. For that price you really can't complain. They do take away too, in the future I'll be getting pizza from La Pernella and not Dominos over the road!
A great cafe during the day, then in the evening it is a Pizzeria!
I have been going to this place for years, not sure why I haven't written a review yet!
The place is large and spacious with opening doors at the front, great for daytime food, inexpensive but very good. Its not fancy or pretentious, the owners are in the place every day which menas that the service is good!
In the evening it is an Italian or pizzeria! I have had numerous take away pizzas and they are the best in Earlsfield! Traditional Italian pizzas cooked in a wood burning stove. The pizza bases are light and flour based, not the greasy thick stuff you get at Dominoes.
All in all I frequent the place weekly, so it must be good!
The food here is really tasty and not expensive. There are many Italian restaurants in the area, but I think only here you can order an authentic wood-fired pizza and this is a big plus for them. The atmosphere is cozy and the waitresses are really attentive. Highly recommend it.
La Pernella turns into a classic greasy spoon caff by day. Big breakfasts with tea and toast for five English pounds. Lovely jubbly.
For breakfasts, you can't beat La Pernella in Earlsfield. It's informal, sometimes loud, but always reliable with loads of food which hits the spot. And with a choice of about 10 different types of breakfast, you don't have to worry about picking out the bits you don't like (baked beans - yuch). Its pizzas are good as a takeaway, although I've never eaten in when it transforms itself from a cafe into a restaurant for the evening. As a take-away pizza, it was good, although not the best I've ever had. I'll just stick to going there after a big night out, and enjoying my breakfast. Yum.
