Under the student plan (non-peak hour usage only), membership costs only 19.99 a month, which is certainly cheaper than my previous membership with Fitness First nearby. Admittedly, full-price membership is 30-40 pounds I believe. And this membership gives you access to not only the usual gym equipment, but also their swimming pool - which is a big plus since the nearby Fitness Firsts do not have any.
You'll also get access to their daily Fitness Timetable (activities and workshops) and Kickstart (health check and 1 on 1 for initial checking/tutoring). The only downside is the minimum 6-month contract, but if you need a gym anyway, that really isn't an issue. Oh yes, don't forget to claim your free LA fitness bag too.
One word: untrustworthy.
They do not keep their words, do not deal with the issues raised, and definitely do not listen to the members.
It has been 7 months now trying to get the money back (45*6= 270 pounds), which the payment had been made due to their fault.
They have been making false promises to start with (oh, and one of the manager just disappeared and never came back during the process of fixing the problem) and as time went by their attitudes changed. Now I have to beg for the money back! Yupee!
Oh, and they also keep on taking the money out AFTER the end of membership. They just do not stop.
If you don't mind paying money that you are not entitled to, go for it. It will be the best choice ever made.
I used to go to LA Fitness. Everything was perfect except their staff.. They were unpolite which I hate .Therefore I only give 3 stars.
