Super lækkert! Delicious dishes which were flavoursome and a lot of variety. We got a couple starters and a main to share, the lamb was so tender and juicy. The sauces are nicely balanced and portions are good.

Another absolutely sublime evening in Hamburg. For starters, we had the baked goat cheese, falafel, and the Sin of the Orient (which turned out to be a sampler of a bunch of other starters). All sublime. Our main course was the lamb filet, every element of which was spectacular. The port wine sauce goes amazingly with every part of the dish, and every portion of the dish synergizes well. It shouldn't be missed.

Great lunch spot for pfanneküchen (thin pizza like entree). Got here right at lunchtime and there were plenty of places to sit. It has a very cute French style cafe decor. Service was prompt and food was a good deal for lunch. I enjoyed my tuna 'pizza'! It was a good lunch portion as well. Will be sure to add to my lunch rotation!

This lovely Hamburg cafe is among my favorite lunch spots (worldwide!) and I very much look forward to visiting when I am in Germany.

The sit-down area gets quite busy at lunchtime, so I recommend an earlier lunch: noon or 12:30 local time, since 1pm seems to be peak lunch hour in Hamburg.

Among the lunch offerings you really can't go wrong. Personally I've had the quiche and soup options (fresh, and good) but I've also seen the "plate of the day" and baked potato offering look quite tempting as well.

This is also one of the few restaurants in Hamburg where I've seen a side green salad show up by default!

If you dine in, they also give you a delicious sampling of complimentary chocolate cake after your meal to satisfy that post-lunch sweet tooth craving.

We walked past this restaurant during the day and we liked the menu and tha ambiance. We came back for an excellent dinner. Service was excellent. Food was great. We recommend the duck and the crepes for dessert. If we return to Hamburg we will visit again. Excellent value for money.

We went here for a work lunch. Luckily we had made a reservation because at lunch time it's very full. The food is a strange cultural mix and hard to define. I had a falafel plate which came quickly. Basically it's four different kinds of falafel and vegetables - it's all yummy and way more filling than I expected. Overall quick service, a bit hectic and full, a bit loud, but good.

Take a chance on La Chance. Really!

An absolutely lovely, cozy dinner on a rather blustery evening in Hamburg.

An array of meze, hot tea, friendly service -- could not have asked for anything more. A delightful place to dine.

About 50 euro for our table of 4 (no drinks). Not bad!

Good, kind and fast service. Nice and warm atmosphere. Food was good, however the lamb was a tat on the dry side and portions could have been a little bigger. We had a 6 months old toddler with us and the staff was both understanding and accommodating. All in all we were very satisfied.

Nice, comfortable interior with jazzy music and an interesting selection of food, mostly in the snack category. The salad was fantastic and the baked potato was really good, the service friendly. Unfortunately, the cappuccino was solid, but not good, hence four stars instead of five.

I went to La Chance for dinner with a colleague from work. Based on the reviews, it must have been an off-night for them, or, rather, for the head waiter.

I ordered the Falafel Teller with a side of couscous. Both were good, although I'm not sure I would call the dish 13.90€ good compared to a similar one for half the price in their lunch menu. I was a little surprised they brought out the couscous in a separate side bowl instead of just putting it on the plate, where there was plenty of room. Those are the small details I'd expect for an establishment at this price point.

Food alone would have been 4 stars. What knocks it down to 3 stars is the service, particularly of the waiter that night (having only been once I have no idea if he's the regular evening waiter). When bringing a glass of wine to a Swedish couple a few tables away from us, he accidentally hit the wine glass on a chair, spilling its contents onto one of the ladies and breaking the glass on the floor. He didn't apologize at the time, simply walked away to get a rag. Uh, you just spilled wine all over a guest. An apology would be nice. His indifference was just really off-putting and was persistent even when he came back.

He showed an equal amount of indifference when we asked him for the bill. In a last bold move on his part, he included a pre-calculated 20% tip on the total when running my colleague's card. 20% isn't standard in German restaurants, and it's definitely not appropriate for the quality of service we saw from this waiter that night.

So, all in all, food was good, but the service left me thinking I could have an equally good meal at home without paying the premium for a restaurant "experience".
