Krispy Kreme's are definitely one of the best hangover cures. Sugar, fat and carbs all in one delicious, fresh-off-the-belt hand held snack. Yum.
Plus they always throw in a freebie coffee or donut. A great way to suck up to your office colleagues :)

I am used to Krispy Kreme locations in the USA (where I live) and so it was interesting to see a UK location.
The prices are about 50% higher (per donut) than I am used to and they had some interesting flavors we don't get at home.
I tried the Lemon Meringue Pie donut - shockingly (and very pleasantly) it wasn't that sweet, the meringue was toasted, the lemon filling had good flavor and the donut itself was not greasy.
Hopefully we will see this flavor across the pond sometime.

I love this place, whenever I go into Reading I make it my first (and sometimes last as well!) stop.
The doughnuts are incredibly tasty, they just melt in your mouth, and the service is always top class, I was even serenaded on one visit!
They are a bit pricey, but I consider that to be a bit of a bonus for me cos its stops me from buying one of each flavour!

Sinfully tempting doughnuts:
The good thing about this branch of Krispy Kreme is that the doughnut flavour you want it always available. (the London branches sometimes run out of popular flavours, especially during lunch time/after 5pm).
There are always seats available and the staff are all very helpful and polite. Great for family day outs, as there is something to suit everyone, from coffee to chillers.
The disadvantage is that the place looks like a fast food chain, so may not be suitable if you are meeting someone important for coffee. Also, the doughnuts are quite costly compared with supermarket produced doughnuts.

Ooh yum, just thinking about Krispy Kreme makes my mouth water
It's a tiny little shop but you don't have to have much space to make donuts this good. I don't have a sweet tooth but you will not be able to resist once you have tried their donuts. I recommend the original glazed ones

This KK location doesn't bring the donuts in, they send them out. That's right, they have a donut making machine here. I'd like to say that I've seen it in operation - maybe I'll post an update later. But for today, they were not open when I was there at 7:20 AM. They don't open until 9:00 AM Monday to Saturday (10:00 Sunday) and they close around dinner time. Time to make the donuts? I don't think so!

beautiful doughnuts, this branch is as good as any i have visited
great selection of flavours, from the conventional to the extreme
exceptional offers when you buy large quantities, but never last any longer than 12 hours in our house, no matter how many we buy

Krispy kreme doughnuts are sensationally tasty. krispy kreme staff are always intent on happily serving you great doughnuts with icing and fillings. They are a bit on the expensive side though but that does not make them any less tastier.

The krispy kreme by the riverside is what I consider to be heaven! Fresh baked doughnuts that just ooze an irresistible quality that once you have had one, you will be dying for more. My favourite has to be the original glazed doughnut. The employees that work behind the counter are very friendly and even gave me a free hat, which would also keep kids entertained. The shop is always well present and clean and every time I visit the oracle I always make sure I have a pound spare for my doughnut. Although their prices are a little steep, with most doughnuts costing a pound I defy anyone to find a better one! Once you go to krispy kreme you won't go back!

If you thought doughnut shops were just for overweight american policemen you'd be right, however this place does offer a wide range of doughnuts if you like that kind of thing. Quality is generally good, and not too expensive, but the calorie count is a bit high for me to make a regular visit.

If you love doughnuts, then Krispy Kremes are the king of all doughnuts! If you are in need of a sugar rush whilst shopping in Reading then I highly recommend giving the Krispy Kreme shop on the riverside of the Oracle a visit. The shop sell hot and cold drinks but the main event is choosing your doughnut (no mean feat due to the range available). They stock various types, from the original frosted ring doughnut, various kruellers to filled and iced. Although there are a few varieties that are available throughout the year (cream filled, raspberry filled etc) they are forever inventing new varieties to tempt you like the jaffa doughnut and lemon merangue. These doughnuts don't come as cheap as your average supermarket fare but then again they are a class apart. The staff at the Reading branch are very friendly and were quick to point out an offer we had missed which actually saved us money. The shop also sell krispy kreme merchandise and gift cards/subscriptions (I'd love the double dozen card a double dozen of doughnuts every month for a year!!) which would make a novel gift for a krispy kreme addict! If you haven't tried one of their doughnuts then pay them a visit to find out what you have been missing!
