staying overnight ,in Birmingham picked this restaurant by chance, glad i did , it was quiet on the night (day after may bank hol.) the service was attentive, very friendly, ordered chicken biriany & chicken tikka massalla, rice chips & poppadoms , all delicious , felt guilty leaving some on plate, lovely people hope to go again
Since recently moving to the city centre I thought I would try out the local indian restaurants as Indian is on of my favourite foods.
At first sight of walking into this place it looked quite authentic, I'm not sure what I thought of the fake decorative tree in the middle of the restaurant but it certainly was different.
First of all, it was 8pm and the place was empty, we were the only ones in all night. But the menu was quite expansive and the food sounded good.
My first concerns came when the waiter came and laid a knife and fork on the table even thoguh I had ordered a creamy saucy passanda. And then when the food came, the waiter tried to tip my food onto a plate instead of keeping it in the blalti dishe.
The food was very bland and the sauce watery, but what was quite surprising was that me and my partner had ordered 2 completely different dishes and the sauces were a completely different colour but they actually tasted the same.
The best thing about my meal was the Naan bread.
I'd say this place is only good to visit after you've been out and had quite a few to drink as that is the only time you would appreciate the bland food and shoddy service.
One good point though the waiter was very nice and friendly...
