I've never used the gym part but I've been to the swimming pool and it's loooovely. It's a decent sized pool with different lanes for different swimmers and a deep end that's actually deep. Do you know how rare that is? The one I used at my mum's place defines a deep end as 6ft. That's how tall I am. If I go on tip toe, my head goes above water. That is NOT a deep end.
There is also a separate pool for toddlers decorated to look like a beach so this place is ideal for families and every age group. It even has a decent set of diving boards.
The only slightly dodgy thing is there is a ridge at the deep end where, if you swim down and towards the end, you can get trapped under a block of concrete. It's signposted and they have lifeguards on duty, but it still creeped me out a bit.
I'd like to try the gym bit out since it's stupidly cheap at £15 a month for membership, but alas, my boss goes there so I'll be staying away...
Went for a weekend trip to Canterbury with my swimming club and we found this little gem. Three pools well maintained pools in the easy access part of the city. They have a 33m pool, plus a proper training pool and also a Family Beach pool whicch contains a seperate Toddler pool. Very nice.everyone catered for. Creche available.
Well worth a 5 star rating
But they had loads of junk food vending machines, like coca cola, chocolate bars and Monster Munch crisps. The cafe was closed so you were left to eat junk. Maybe they think people who want a healthy life want to eat that. Wrong!
Fortunately there is a Sainsburys round the corner, so you didn't have to get any junk from the vending machine.
I look forward to the day when they have healthy snacks and drinks in the vending machines at Reception suitable for a sports centre. Coca Cola doesn't seem appropriate.
