Very cool, why isn't this more widespread??
A local vintage clothing shop was using Judo Payments, a system where the customer pays the business phone to phone. I called up the judo number, entered in the business' judo ID and then my card details. It replied back saying transaction successful by text message to both of us.
Was helpful because I paid quite a bit for the outfit I purchased, seems like a logical decision for small business or ones that don't have chip and pin terminal.
My friend is a hair stylist and just joined Judo Payments. I didn't know what it was at first, but it allowed me to pay for my hair cut through my phone. So before she did the blow dry, I called up on speaker phone, entered in all the numbers asked of me and DONE!.. Payment successful.
Not the biggest technology person, but I'm realizing technology is changing businesses. My friend loves it!
I own a market stall in Petticoat Lane in East London and recently took on Judo Payments. It's simply amazing! I can now take card payments on a Pay As You Go basis and I dont need a clunky card machine either, I ask my customers to call a number, enter their details and I get a text a few seconds later and the money is ready for me to transfer to my account.
They told me I was one of the 1st few merchants to be with them and i'm planning to keep the service and i'm the envy of the Market, they all want this system!
Nice one Judo lol :-D
I signed up for Judo as my geek chique t-shirt business does very well on stalls and at markets but i've never been good with cash and love the ability to take card payments without having to sign up for a machine which can cost £££'s. It's awesome as I only pay for transaction I actually put through and if I dont take any card payments, it does not cost me a thing.
I visited a coffee shop in my local town and was told I could pay using my mobile phone.. I was not sure at first but the owner showed me how and it was actually quite easy! I intended to pay by cash but as the ATM is a good 10min walk I gave the Judo payment a go and it was such fun! I do enjoy trying new things..
I took this out recently and its awesome! When I do trade shows or car boot sales etc. I show everyone the system and how it works and they are usually happy to try it out. I like it coz my customers can't say that they need cash any more lol. Gr8 service.
I'm all over modern ways to pay and think this is great! Plus when i dug deeper into who they are, i found out its a British company rather then an american system like Square and iZettle which are not really made for the UK market. I expect to see this around more throughout the year.
I was out shopping and I saw a mock-fur clothing store advertising they take judo payments and when they explained it to me, it sounded cool. I bought some gloves and then paid using my mobile phone which felt quite futuristic! It was quick and was told now i've done it once, I can always use my phone to pay for things where the shop has the judo system.
Top notch payment system, very unique and works a treat. It's simple like paypal but quicker and you use your phone to pay so now when one of my customers say they have no money i can say you have a phone!
I was shopping in St Nicholas Market recently and saw one of the stands advertising this type of payment where I can pay for things using my mobile phone.. I have a Nokia 5146 ( yes its old ) and did not think i could use the system but the stall owner said I can so I picked out some shoes and a top and paid using my mobile phone!! It took a couple minutes and me and the stall owner got texts letting us know the payment has worked and I was well impressed! I like this and would use it more in the future.
I am using judo pay in my dry cleaners as me and my partner found having a card machine is too expensive but judo is pay as you go so i only pay when someone pays by card which i am fine with. it is really easy and the cost is made clear to me when i signed up. it has really boosted my sales as it causes interest with my locals and they enjoy having the ability to pay by phone.
I was visited by a friendly member of staff for Judo payments and they told me how it works.. I was skeptical at first but having a quick demo and the fact that its on a pay as you go basis, I was sold! Since we started taking Judo its brought new life to our local bakery in East Finchley as ever since we opened in 1972, we've only taken cash and the regulars are keen to give it a go and some prefer to pay this way as all they need to do is use their mobile phone rather than getting their card out and waiting for the machine to print the receipt.. they get a text instead! Very impressive stuff.
