Jigami is one of those salons I keep going back to despite temptation elsewhere, and I've been a repeat customer over the past 10 years (really can't believe it's been so long!). What I love about this place is that despite its very convenient central location, it doesn't have the stuffiness you can get in many other Soho salons, and the atmosphere is always very friendly and laid-back. I also love knowing that none of the products used on my visit will be unnecessarily harsh or loaded with chemicals which is ideal for someone like me with sensitive skin that reacts to almost everything!
The stylists here are highly knowledgeable, and always happy to discuss what you want in detail, and I've never been disappointed with a haircut. I'd also recommend the seaweed lightening which I've had on a couple of occasions and found to be really gentle on my dry, frizzy hair. I will definitely be going back to Jigami (soon re-branding as Natural Colour Works) as it's so rare to find a salon that ticks so many boxes!
I had my haircut here twice and now have stopped going in favour of The Lounge (also in soho). The reason wasn't anything drastic just that jigami couldn't fit me in when I needed a cut last minute. The Lounge just had a little extra energy which I liked and I really want in a salon. However if you want a chilled out, no frills salon, this is a nice place to go. Little effort has been placed on cool interiors so its not trying to be too trendy which is good. I went here after passing by and the non-intimidating appearance is what drew me in. The cuts I've had here have taken some time as I have long hair but both times i've left with that just stepped out of the salon bounce. Recommended if you find all these over-the-top soho salons a little too much and a tad intimidating.
A small salon in the midst of Soho. They can do good colour but the tendency to pass you off to an assistant to do the final blow dry afterwards (no styling, just someone running their fingers through your hair) means that you leave looking like you just woke up in the morning. Not the best when you are paying £70 for colour.
